I am a boutique-style design studio. I have 17 years of experience as a certified graphic designer at companies ranging from small businesses to large corporations. Illustration was my first love, and now am happy to provide digital illustrations for all of your advertising needs, be it web or print. Newspaper layout, logo design, brand identity, advertising and marketing, website banner and header design are some of the services I provide.

My customers love the personal attention that can't be found at an ad agency as well as my attention to detail. Combining my down-to-earth simplicity with my experience in cities like San Fransisco and Los Angeles, creates a look that is hard to find. Q. Describe three recent jobs you've completed.

A. Three Most Recent Jobs:

I will focus on the Diocese of Fresno since it was the most recent. This was a very large project that spanned over 5 months and allowed me to create a dynamic design package. The Director of Development was extremely organized and ready for me at our first meeting, so I was able to waste no time in creating an illustration and marketing pieces for their Capital Campaign. This included an 8 page booklet, large scale poster and mailer brochure with pledge cards. We were all very happy with the results and were on budget and right on time.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. My biggest piece of advice would be: don't hire the most inexpensive designer. Look at websites and portfolios and look for a style you love. Many clients come to me not knowing what they are looking for, but say they will know when they see it. That is true, but you can only get to that point if there is good communication between the designer and you. I do a creative brief which allows me to gather valuable information from you to make the finished product uniquely yours.
I charge by the hour so everyone knows what they are getting. I am VERY honest and deliver the best for your money.

So when hiring from Thumbtack or any other online service, do your homework and look for a designer that is a great communicator, has experience in the area you need help with and supplies you with phone numbers to references so they can give you their experience with that designer. Most importantly follow your instincts...if something doesn't feel right, don't continue. Marketing and graphic design is a team effort between the client and the designer. Good luck!

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Ask to talk with previous clients. How was their experience? Did the designer have an ego? Did they provide great customer service or did they get offended when you had changes or didn't like the direction they were going? Many designers can get defensive if you don't agree with their vision. Remember, a great designer is a great listener and will treat you with respect, because in the end YOU the client need to get what you want. I have seen that when my clients are truly happy with the results, they can't wait to show them off. Ask past clients about their level of happy. That is a great indicator!

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love that I can create such a diverse range of marketing pieces. The companies are all so different in the services that they provide, yet I am able to design for almost any company. I also love that I am a freelance graphic designer and can work from my home. I need a flexible schedule and with the technology today I can provide design services to companies and people all over the world. I also love to provide products for the Spanish speaking demographic. I have many freelance partners, like photographers, copywriters, SEO writers and translators that expand my ability to provide high quality services that go beyond graphic design.

I also really love interacting with people. This field has allowed me to use my God-given creativity to provide an honest service and meet so many great people!

Q. What is your greatest strength?

A. My greatest strength is creative problem solving and understanding the needs of the clients and interweaving their personality into the final product. Previous clients like Andes and Associates, Robinson's Carpet One, Tiffany Nielsen, Dr. Candice Golez, The Diocese of Fresno and The Wanderer Newspaper, all stated their surprise at how accurate the finished products were to their wish list and how their confidence was given quite a boost. This is what I have found to be a common thread with my clients...that the marketing pieces I have designed improved their confidence in their business, which actually even helped them increase their business!
