About this pro
I have taught guitar, bass, drums, and ukulele at Speed Of Sound Music in Healdsburg, CA for almost two years now to students ranging from 6 to 60 years old so I have a lot of experience with figuring out what the best teaching method is for each individual student. In addition to private lessons I have also lead a number of Speed Of Sound student bands where students learned how to work as a group to prepare sets for biannual performances. Thanks to various music theory, musicianship, and jazz classes that I have taken I also have an extensive knowledge of the theoretical side of music. Over the years I have played guitar and bass in numerous gigging jazz and rock bands and I am currently the drummer in the band Sleepwalk Sunday that has been having a lot of success playing in Sonoma County.

- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?My dad is a professional jazz musician so I have learned a lot from him over the years. I've been playing in bands since the beginning of high school which taught me a lot about how to teach others to play in a group. I have also played in school jazz and concert bands since 5th grade. Since then I have taken numerous music theory, musicianship, piano, jazz improve, and jazz combo classes at Santa Rosa Junior College. For about two years now teaching music at Speed of Sound in Healdsburg, CA has been my primary focus and main source of income. Over the years I've learned how to work with individual students, organize full bands, and get people out of the practice room and on to the stage to do what they love.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?My local music store was looking to hire more guitar teachers.
- What types of customers have you worked with?I've done ukulele lessons with 6 year old kids, mandolin lessons with a friend in his 60s, and taught guitar and bass to students of all ages in between.
