FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My dad is a professional jazz musician so I have learned a lot from him over the years. I've been playing in bands since the beginning of high school which taught me a lot about how to teach others to play in a group. I have also played in school jazz and concert bands since 5th grade. Since then I have taken numerous music theory, musicianship, piano, jazz improve, and jazz combo classes at Santa Rosa Junior College. For about two years now teaching music at Speed of Sound in Healdsburg, CA has been my primary focus and main source of income. Over the years I've learned how to work with individual students, organize full bands, and get people out of the practice room and on to the stage to do what they love.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My local music store was looking to hire more guitar teachers.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I've done ukulele lessons with 6 year old kids, mandolin lessons with a friend in his 60s, and taught guitar and bass to students of all ages in between.
