Definitions:
What is a Pitch raise? Returning the strings of the piano to a standard pitch. This is usually the first of two or more tunings for a piano that has not been serviced in a long while.
What is Voicing? Improving the tone of the piano by controlling the surface of specific hammers on the piano.
What is Regulation Work? Any work that involves repairing or correcting the operation of the internal moving parts of a piano.
Hammer Reshape? Removing the notches of impacted felt on the hammers. This is caused by many years of the hammer striking the strings. Doing this improves the overall tone of the piano.
I do not offer Piano Moving Services.
Repair only calls are $175, which includes 30 minutes of labor.
Pianos more than 1/4 tone out of tune are recommended to have a Follow Up Tuning scheduled usually 2 - 4 weeks later
Charge is $225 for Follow Up Tunings. Scheduling can be done on the website.
Tuning a piano usually takes about 90 minutes (about 1 and a half hours).

He didnt feel he was the best person for the job as he specializes more in accoustical pianos. However, he did refer me to someone that he felt was more equiped to handle electric pianos. i appreciate the honesty

Finally, I have a piano tuner to call that responds, communicates and is pleasant to have in your home. I am on a mission to refer William to my musical friends, as we have all struggled to find a piano tuner since COVID.

It was a pleasure to work with William. He came to our house right on time and went straight to work. Our upright piano that is over 100 years old had some sticky keys. William wasn't able to fix them so he took the whole inside with him to his workshop. He needed to order parts, and this took longer than expected, but he kept in touch and let us know his progress. Overall, the repair took about 3 weeks, but William was a professional the whole time. I would work with him again if our piano needs further tuning.

Where is the 6th star option???? William Kamstra is a darling person. Did everything so right: communicated perfectly at all points in the process, tolerated our colorful family, and returned dad's piano from neglected noise back into ducet tones!!! Caring treatment of the piano and we people. We highly recommend him!!! Call him with your tuning needs!!!!!

FAQs
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Have patience. A good tuning like a fine meal takes time to provide.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
When was the last time I had my piano tuned?
Repair work is different than Tuning. Tuning is adjusting the strings to a desired pitch. Repair work fixes issues with the various components of the Piano.
How much use does the piano receive? once a day, once or more a week, etc.
If the Piano is brand new it will require at least two or more tunings the first year according to manufacturer's directions.
