The reason my work stands out from others who do what I do stems from my core belief that true entertainment should be all about the audience and NOT about me. In other words, the audience should be the star NOT the entertainer. My shows are therefore based on a carefully laid out plan that includes: Audience Participation Stage Presence Character Development A Comprehensive Understanding of Humor The Psychology of What Makes People Laugh Mental Preparation Confidence Experience Showmanship When properly applied, these skills and principles along with my "secret ingredient" ultimately generate a powder keg that is primed and ready for explosive laughter, spontaneous fun and sheer amazement! Contained within this powder keg is a highly INTERACTIVE environment which transforms my audience members from being passive observers into active participants who contribute to the overall entertainment value of the show. This unique environment demands that I never perform DOWN to my audience requiring them to watch some sort of ego-maniac make the show all about himself. There is something inherently wrong on so many levels when any artist performs only what HE wants with the attitude of "Hey, look at me!" "Look at what I can do but you can't!" Audience interaction is the key to creating unique and hilarious improvisational opportunities that are truly entertaining and extremely memorable. Often times, I have seen children (whom the parents say are shy) jump at every opportunity to join me on stage where we work together to perform either a magic trick or a gag. The shyness quickly melts away leading to incredible ad-lib moments that are not only an entertainer's dream come true but are also wonderfully entertaining! Someone recently asked me, " What is the most valuable lesson you have learned as an entertainer?" I simply replied by saying, " Without the audience, an entertainer is nothing." I am a firm believer that people are limited by their own imaginations. That being said, my approach to clowning is quite simple. I design my shows in such a way as to tap into the audience's creative processes through interactive, comedy magic and expand their imaginations. Clowning around is my passion. I absolutely love what I do because it involves the four things I love most; balloons, magic, comedy, and making people laugh.

I was very satisfied with Berkle the clown, he was very professional, on time, and entertaining. We had all ages at our party and everyone from the smallest child to the oldest adult were amazed by his magic show, every one loves their balloon animals and were entertained seeing them be made in front of them, I will definitely keep Berkle in mind for our next party and will refer to anyone who asks. :)

Berkle provided an outstanding service during our family reunion. He fully engaged all the children and made sure each had a special opportunity to participate in the games, magic and balloons. The balloons were amazing...kids quickly lined up to make their special request. It was a perfect way to keep the kids entertained while the adults mingled in the background...although most of the adults were into the show as well. I received so many compliments from kids and grown-ups. I am so glad we added Berkle the Clown to our family fun.

Thanks for a wonderful birthday party. You are a great clown! The children absolutely loved that x-ray vision trick you did. What a great way to get everybody involved. I think you could have done that trick all day long without the children ever getting tired of it. My daughter is still talking about how funny that was. The balloons and games were a huge hit. What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am constantly expanding my knowledge base by studying everything I can get my hands on whether it is in print or video. Ialso attend lectures and conferences as often as I can in order to refine my skills through the application of techniques presented by professionals in the clowning, balloon and magic fields. Recently, I attended a lecture given by Rich Marotta who is a professional, comedy magician with over 20 years of experience and over 2000 shows in more than 200 venues. He has been a regular performer at the famous Magic Castle in Los Angeles and is an inventor of some amazing magic effects. He is currenty performing at the Snapple Theater in New York City. This was a very intimate gathering of about 30 people or so all of whom share a voracious interest in comedy and magic. We sat spellbound as Rich performed some of his hilarious and amazing feats of magic all while explaining the methodology, motivation and showmanship required to successfully execute a magic routine in an entertaining manner. Lots of ideas were shared and yours truly was on top of it all taking copius amounts of notes eager to expand my knowledge base. What great night!
How did you get started doing this type of work?
It all started several years ago. Every Halloween my children and I would perform a "show" on our front porch for the trick-or-treaters. We wanted to give the kids in our neighborhood a memorable Halloween experience. The shows were meant to be funny and yet maintain the Halloween theme. The shows quickly became a hit and were so much fun that I often wished I could perform year-round. In 2002, I met a professional clown at a social gathering in Modesto. I was intrigued with her stories and experiences and after hours of constant questions and answers, I decided that being a clown was exactly what I was looking for - an opportunity to perform comedy and magic year-round. Through her patient help and tutiledge I learned all the ins and outs of being a clown. The more I learned, the more immersed I became in the art of clowning. The rest as they say is history
