FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I took journalism and photography classes in high school, loved it and continued to take courses in college. For years it was just a hobby and something I did to express myself creatively. I started taking photographs of family and friends; people suggested that I look into pursuing as a career. I kind of considered it a pipe-dream until I met my husband. He supported my decision to stay at home with our children and pursue photography.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
My stepson and daughter-in-law trusted me to shoot their maternity pictures when they visited during the Thanksgiving holidays last year. Allowing me to take part at such an amazing time in their lives was such a gift and the images we got from that session will be forever cherished.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure the style of the photographer's portfolio is what you are looking for in your own portraits. Do you get along well with the person? You want someone who you can work with, especially if you have children.
