How did you get started doing this type of work?
I knew years ago that I wanted to be a coach. However, it wasn't unless the last 5 yrs. that I started coaching and training full-time. I have a good sense of people and an intuitive feeling for what they are asking for and coaching allows me to help people to live better lives.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I do phone and email coaching. I also have group-coaching programs that my clients can take. I will also do face-to-face coaching if clients prefer that as well. Lastly, I conduct trainings on many different life-balance topics that are open to my clients.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I think my recent experience at the Freedom to Choose prison project when I got to coach inmates is one of my most proud experiences. I was particularly moved by the share of one of the men when he said that this was the first time in his 50yrs. that he felt loved.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would schedule a short 15-30min. call with a few different coaches and see who you connect with. Don't go with the first person - unless you're really sure they're the 'one'! And, if you don't feel like the coach is helping you, ask for what you need, and if you need to, find a different coach. The bottom-line is working with someone who will help you get where you want to go!
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I studied to be a coach over 15yrs. ago before the profession became popular. But, my most valuable asset is my life experience and my Masters in Spiritual Psychology. Those are the 'tools' that I use to help my clients more than anything else.
