Introduction: James Hilsabeck has over 18 years of experience with flute performance. Mr. Hilsabeck currently holds the position of Principal Flute with the Dana Point Symphony and is a member of Symphony Irvine. James is also a founding member of the Dana Point Woodwind Quintet and has performed in Europe. Additionally, James is active in recording studios and has performed with such artists such as two-time Grammy Award Winner James Ingram, violinist Moni Simoniov, conductor of the Hong Kong Chamber Orchestra Zun Hin Woo, and flutist Bernhard Krabatsch of the Mozarteum. Teaching Experience: Irvine Young Concert Artists, Flute coach and Wind Ensemble Director Sunshine Acadamy, Flute Instructor Diamond Youth Symphony, Flute Choir Director and Coach Tustin Music Center, Flute Instructor Students gain a strong foundation in flute performance and develop a solid back- round in theory. James is an amazing teacher! He is very patient, and so passionate about flute playing. As an adult student, I was wary about starting flute so late; but he made the process so interesting and engaging. He was always prompt and gave 100% attention to each lesson. I'm excited to continue learning from him!

James is an amazing teacher! He is extremely patient and thorough. In addition to helping you with your playing, he helps you with theory as well. I learned more from him in one year than my past teacher in three. Because of him, I was able to get into my top choice school for music with a large scholarship.
