How did you get started doing this type of work?
Two different experiences were the driving force for starting our business. As a former The UPS Storage franchisee we saw students and parents come in to ship boxes to college. Realizing this was an under served opportunity we decided to start College Storage Services. Helping students transition to college and move-out started our passion to serve this market. Years later my father needed to be moved from his assisted living apartment. Searching and finding someone to move and pack his belongings was difficult. I realized this was needed among other seniors living near my dad. Making the search easy for families and serving others with moving, storage and shipping services became a passion.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Moving, storage and shipping services for college students, military families and seniors. Our services include college storage, global shipping, household moves, packing and moving supplies.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Look for a provider who has an exceptional relationship with customers. Hire a company who doesn't charge extra for shipping. Some companies will charge handling fee or extra amount on top of shipping rates. The same is true for household moving. Some movers will charge for moving equipment, furniture pads, insurance, furniture disassembly/assembly and many other add on fees. Ask questions before hiring a mover what add on fees they charge.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Movers work hard getting heavy furniture out of homes and offices. Summer is the busiest time and the heat means movers drink a lot of water. If you can offer a drink of water the movers stay hydrated get the move done quickly.
