Horseback riding lessons for all levels. A small barn with gentle and patient lesson horses allowing you to learn. Arena work or trail rides, whatever you prefer. I teach ground work and western riding with my personal quarter horses. I am also available to work with other horse owners to achieve their goals as well improving their confidence and connection with their horse. I have many years of experience in many different show barns, but I also am a graduate of the Confident Equestrian Program which has been most beneficial for helping me teach people to accomplish their goals through shaping things out. Kristen was warm and welcoming when I arrived for my first lesson. For my second lesson, she made sure I did not go beyond my abilities for the day. I am looking forward to learning more from her and gaining more experience on how to properly ride a horse.

I love going to Kristen's ranch and meet with her for my horsebackridinglesson!! There are several amazing trails near the ranch, and riding on the trial just help you clear your mind so much. Kristen is extremely patient and I love her energy when I'm riding with her. I keep doing all the moves wrong lol , but she is always so patient in correcting me. My work schedule couldn't allow me to stick with the ride weekly which is sad, but I highly recommend Kristen if anyone is looking for a horsebackriding instructor in the Bay Area.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer a la carte lesson rates or memberships with discounted rates. My program entails working with the horses on the ground or under saddle. Also, I am a certified equine body worker offering packages for equine massage, red light therapy, and kinesiology taping.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For lessons with my horses, the potential customer may do a barn visit or simply set up a first lesson. The client will groom and tack their horse, ride, then untack their horse. This teaches horsemanship as well as riding skills. I will travel to meet with clients needing help with their own horse and/or to do bodywork on their horse.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was a member of the National Reining Horse Assoc for 15 yrs. I have been a member of the American Quarter Horse Assoc for +/-20 years. I am currently starting my 3 year old filly, Tallahassee, for her future riding and show career. Teaching positive reinforcement and working on "at liberty" sessions. I am certified as an Equine Massage Therapist and thrive on utilizing this to increase the horse's comfort level, release tension, increase longevity and prevent injury.
