Brian was very responsive with his answers and very impressive. He was prompt and very professional at the same time he was very comfortable to speak with. He worked on the piano with care and did an excellent job tuning it. We will work with him again.

I have a 1925 Kurtzmann baby grand. My piano tuner of more than 25 years has recently retired. I found Brian Lee through Thumbtack and am so pleased with his service and work. Along with tuning and general maintenance, he repaired a broken string. Brian has a very reasonable COVID protocol, so no need to feel uncomfortable at this time. My piano sounds beautiful.

Brian was knowledgeable, professional, and wonderfully cordial throughout the entire experience. Besides the standard pianotuning I needed, I had a nagging issue with buzzing coming from the piano when playing a certain key, and Brian debugged the issue in less than 10 minutes! As an engineer in my day job, I always appreciate a well-explained answer to why things are done, and Brian impressed me throughout with his ability to explain and demonstrate why he does what he does, and the piano sounded heavenly after he finished working on it. He’s worth every penny, and I highly recommend Brian for any piano maintenance related work!

Brian was super responsive and easy to communicate with. He showed up on time and was very professional. He asked some basic questions and quickly assessed the condition of our 20-year old piano that had not been tuned for over 10 years. In about 1.5 hours, he tuned the piano, polished the surface, and fixed a squeaky pedal. I also enjoyed our conversation on a wide range of topics. It was a great experience and I highly recommend his service!

Brian was on time, professional, and looked into several minor issues with my instrument without asking - issues which previous tuners had neglected. I wouldn’t hesitate to have Brian back again to service or tune our piano.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Discounts are offered for students, and the families of. Fees are based on a base tuning rate, then an hourly service rate, in addition to prices of parts.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When approaching new work, I love talking about the piano with the client, what it's been through, what it will go through. It's imperative that I inspect certain parts of the piano before even commencing work, as well as discuss what to expect from the work and the piano itself.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a Degree from the Colburn School Conservatory of Music in Music Performance. My direct technical training came from a hands-on, on-the-job training apprenticeship at this school, which is upheld to the highest standard of Piano Maintenance and top level concert preparation. My mentors are top of the field piano technicians commanding positions at The Colburn School, Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, and Steinway & Sons.
