We took @uber to the airport during surge pricing and got there for $12.
We took bell cabs back, same route, cost us $44.
The uber driver had a nice car, handed us gum, was friendly, and got our bags.
The cab driver did not get our bags, barely spoke any English, drove dangerously, had a van that was falling apart, and was full of lights and bells and whistles it was reminiscent of one of the machines from the matrix that came and released neo from his ooze.
I don't get these idiots standing up for the cab companies. Fudge the cab companies. They are a relic, a protected sub government agency with shitty service at a ridiculous price.
Fudge slate magazine and other apologists. It's time for cabs to die.

I usually ride my bike to work, but when it rains (which isn't often in L.A) I take a cab. 3 out of 5 times they've been late and have made me late to work. Horrible servce. Never again.

I took a Bell Cab from LAX to my home. After the driver dropped me off, I realized that I had left my iphone and keys in the cab. I called the telephone number on the meter receipt and the dispatcher sent the driver back to me with my belongings right away. This is good customer service. I am happy with my experience with their nice driver and dispatcher. I will definitly use them again.

Finally I got a taxi who showed up on time. And the driver was polite and nice. He even open the door for me and didn't get mad when I used my credit card. Good job Bell Cab!

All of our fares are set by the Taxicab Division of the City of Los Angeles Department of Transportation. Currently our rates are: $2.85 flag drop and $2.70 per mile. Please call us to get an estimated fare.

For the past 9 years, LA DOT has ranked Bell Cab the highest amongst all the taxi companies licensed by the City of LA in our service areas.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure your taxi provider is a licensed and insured company and its drivers undergo criminal background check as well as random drug and alcohol testing.
Also make sure you get a receipt printed by the taxi
meter at the end of your trip.
