FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My usual rate is $50 an hour for grant writing services, which is the majority of my business; however, I do offer a sliding scale for some clients depending on their project. I also offer some flat fee pricing. For example, if you need a general grant package created, I can offer this service in the range of $250-$500 (the higher range is for organizations with a more complex structure and requiring a larger package). If you are requesting a quote from me, please include in the project description not only a description of your organization, but if you are a nonprofit, what it is you want me to do specifically or what your goal is. I am sorry but I can't quote on projects that are too vague. Thank you.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My goal is to set a new client up for success so they can take my work and use it moving forward. One of the most popular services I offer is creating your standard grant package for you. Then you can use this package to approach foundations and agencies on your own, with some individualizing done for each submission. I start off with each client doing an orientation to understand their funding needs and the mission and structure of their organization. Then, together, we create a work plan to complete the project. A lot of the information I need to complete a writing project must come from the client. Some of my clients are very comfortable writing up summaries and submitting them to me so I can develop them into full proposals. Other clients do better talking it out with me, and I take notes and develop the proposal based on our conversations.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a B.A. in Dance and and M.F.A. in Dance. I developed my skills in grant writing preparing grants for my own artistic pursuits, eventually taking this talent and positioning it into a career as a full-time grant writer.
