- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Regular Rate: $60/hour Double Rate: $90-$120/hour (Handyman + Helper)
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
INTRODUCTION When I am selected for a project, you will be routed to my assistant (a real, live person!) who will reply with a message in Thumbtack. After that, if email, text or a phone call is preferred, just let us know. My assistant will coordinate with me and begin the process. ESTIMATE An estimate is not always necessary for small jobs. Most of my work is billed hourly, as I find this is the best way to be transparent about the job cost. Materials are in addition to hourly labor. If you would like a written estimate before scheduling, please share adequate project details, including photos if relevant, and list what materials you already have or will need. Sometimes it makes more sense to see the job in person, so we are happy to provide a free estimate the next time we are in your area. We are in a testing phase for a free *virtual* estimate, so if you're available via FaceTime, Zoom or Google, this may be the quickest way to share details about your project. SCHEDULING Once you have shared your availability, project details, and have approved an estimate (if requested), we will suggest a date and time to begin. You will receive an appointment email with your job details (Google calendar) and a reminder check-in the day before your appointment. Please let us know if your plans change! For full-day or multiple-day jobs we request 48 hours advance notice for changes (or 24 hours for cancellation), as it is difficult to fill in days that were blocked. These jobs also require 50% upfront when booking, which is fully refundable with advance notice, or a $50-100 cancellation fee is collected. APPOINTMENT We try our best to be on time, but feel free to contact the office if you have any questions about arrival time. With multiple jobs booked the same day, we are flexible with our time and may be able to start your job sooner if you are available. If so, you will receive a text with our revised start time. PROJECT If materials are to be purchased, we may stop in to do some measurements first. After getting all the materials required, your project will be completed as requested. While we are able to change or add to the project scope, please be aware that additional labor and materials will be added to the invoice. PROJECT COMPLETION Yay! Your project is complete, now what? First of all, thank you for supporting a small business. If you have any questions or concerns about the project, please ask! It is our goal to give a 5-star performance on every job. Now is the perfect time to request estimates for future projects, as this saves time and travel costs while we are on site. PAYMENT If you are ready to pay with cash, Venmo, or Zelle, that is appreciated and can be done in person. If you prefer to pay from our online invoice, just let us know. We do request all payments be made the same day because we prefer booking and completing more jobs instead of spending our time trying to collect payment. REVIEW After we mark your job as *done*, you will have the opportunity to review me and my work product. This is a great time to share project photos and reasons other customers should choose me for their go-to handyman. After all, my motto is YES I CAN! ADDITIONAL PROJECTS We love repeat customers and referrals, so spread the word! Here's how to get in touch. 1. Find our message thread in Thumbtack and send a quick text. No need to go through the searching process to request additional jobs since you already found me. 2. Or, contact my office and we will write down project details, provide an estimate, and get the work scheduled.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have worked for various companies -- remodeling, setting tile, general construction, electrical, plumbing -- to name a few. But overall, I enjoy the variety of workflow that comes with being a handyman the most. These types of jobs are generally over-billed by bigger companies, and I enjoy helping people complete projects quickly and at a fair price.
