FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The pricing system will depend on the case. Attorneys who promise a certain price without actually knowing details of the case are not attorneys to be trusted. I offer a free consultation which is an opportunity for me to learn more about the case and an opportunity for a client to learn more about me. I also will sometimes offer an estimate based on similar types of cases I have worked on in the past.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first step is to have a personal conversation in person or over the phone if necessary. Many attorneys will simply meet their clients for the first time in court. This is not the best practice for an attorney who is strongly advocating for their clients. I want to know exactly what my clients' concerns are, what their goals are, and what their side of the story is. The next step is to begin forming a battle plan to be ready to fight for the best possible outcome from the first courtroom appearance. It is my job to continually stay in contact with my clients until their cases are resolved. Nothing is more important than continual communication.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a former senior prosecutor with the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office. Prior to my time with that office, I was a prosecutor with the Orange County District Attorney's Office. I have experience with every type of criminal case, from misdemeanors such as DUI to felonies including 1st degree murder. My degrees are from Yale University and Tulane University and have won multiple awards for my trial skills. I have relationships with prosecutors, judges, police agencies, and experts across Southern California. I also have personal experience with the pain that the criminal justice system can cause to loved ones.
