Clifford is a great instructor. He's been teaching for a long time, and takes the time to tailor the lessons to each individual student. I have made great progress and really grown as a musician while learning from Clifford! Highly recommended.
It was such a pleasure working with Caroline! I wanted to surprise my husband with having the jazz trio play our song when I enter with my father. Caroline and her band learned our song and played it beautifully for the ceremony. We also had a few other requests that were not part of their repertoire and they learned those songs as well. We received so many compliments from our guest about how amazing Citizen Jazz was. The trio really brought a little something extra, and classy to our event. We would definitely hire them again!
Rob Bennion's band, Gold Standard, recently performed at our daughters wedding. They were incredible! I was hoping they would live up to their promotional videos but they were even better!! Every moment of their performance from the cocktail hour, to background music during the program, to the dance portion of the evening lived up to, and surpassed every expectation we had. Rob was also very easy to work with. He answered every email quickly and worked closely with our wedding planner to make sure the evening was the memorable event we wanted it to be. I would highly recommend Rob and Gold Standard for any event you might be planning. You won't be dissapointed!
I hired the Groovy Judy Band for my wedding and was thoroughly impressed by their professionalism, musicianship and choice of songs. They really kept the pace going and everyone - Millennials through Boomers - were dancing and had a great time. I highly recommend Groovy Judy for any event. :-)
My tango band Trio Garufa recorded our 2012 album at Granada Studios under the supervision of Stevan Pasero. We had an excellent experience and were delighted with the quality of the results. Many factors make Granada Studios an outstanding recording facility: First, the studio equipment, room design and acoustics are top notch. It's also a very nicely-decorated space, which makes you feel comfortable and relaxed during your long recording sessions. Second, Stevan Pasero strives for nothing short of excellence: he is extremely knowledgeable, detail-oriented and uncompromising when it comes to recording quality. He spent several hours optimizing the mic placement for each of our instruments (double bass, bandoneon and guitar), and was on top of every single technical detail, allowing us to fully concentrate on the music. It does make a big difference when your recording engineer is a very experienced performing and recording musician himself: Stevan gave us very valuable feedback on our music and was extremely supportive when we had to work long ours to finish our album. He even spent an entire night working with us when we had to deliver the master mixes the next morning. Lastly, Stevan's wide knowledge of the music industry can also be of great value to those who need advice in that area. In summary, I highly recommend Granada Studios to any musician looking for top-notch professional recording quality.
My son and his band have been working with Seth musically and creatively for several years now and we all value his mad skills as a talented musician and engaging coach/mentor. Seth communicates a passion for music as he encourages all of his pupils to work hard and reach for their potential - always from a place of compassion and fun!
My son and his classmate took saxophone lessons with Andrew to be ready for Fall Band in 5th grade. He is straight forward and they learned fast from him. I highly recommend him.
Absolutely loved the band everything about it. You rocked the house, had people dancing the entire night, and the assortment of music was completely unreal. I walked in there, couldnt believe people were dancing the entire night, and at the end, packed the floor again for the final songs. Your band learning the 1st dance songs was completely awesome too. True talent from every person of the band. The equipment, MC abilities, professionalism, flexibility was off the charts. Best touches Dr. Dave getting me (the groom) to let me know about the last couple of songs, the introduction of the wedding party, and the real talent and energy that the band brought. Favorite songs chicken dance, Shout, and everything in between. (Brian Groom).
Patient, professional, and knows his stuff. What else do you want in a guitar teacher?
I threw my Dad a birthday party this past September in Napa and I hired Barb and her band because my Dad wanted live music and singing. I'm glad I hired them because she has an incredible voice, a lot of charisma, an amazing band, and basically had everyone's attention. My Dad said he felt like he was in a nice upscale club with her performing and was mesmerized by her and her voice. She's really versatile as she can sing any English genre and style and also in any language too! My Dad is from Brazil, so he was completely impressed with her spot on rendition of "Mas Que Nada" and even sang along with her on stage. Dad said it was one of the best birthdays he had and is already trying to get OrKestra International to perform for his office's holiday party coming up.
As wedding and event planners, it is crucial to find bands that set the perfect tone for the event. Los Boleros was fabulous. For this wedding, they created an atmosphere that got the guests up from their chairs, dancing all night long. The entire process; from booking through perfmance was professional and exactly what we hoped for. I would strongly recommend working with Rudy and this band. It was a great experience all around....not to mention that the band is just AMAZING!
Martan has been doing a wonderful job teaching my teenage son jazz piano for the past few years. Martan has a proven approach starting at the basics and advancing to very sophisticated techniques at a pace the student can handle. The techniques my son is learning are also directly applicable to playing jazz on other instruments such as the saxophone that my son also plays in his school band.
My daughter took guitar lessons from Michael for years. He was great and she learned a lot. She played jazz guitar in Albany middle and highschool jazz bands and continues to play in college.
Natalie has been fantastic to work with! Her instruction through exercises, general tips/suggestions, and specific ideas when working on a particular song has all been stellar and on point throughout my work with her. I feel like I have improved dramatically over the course of our lessons, and my band members have made several comments about my improvement as well. She has an uncanny knack for knowing what I am doing with my breath, diaphragm, throat, mouth, etc., and being able to suggest just the right adjustments to make things sound better and more comfortable to sing. Natalie is a wonderful person, too, very encouraging, supportive, and respectful. I highly, highly recommend her!!
Love the versatility of the band and how you can play various genres of music. We also really enjoyed the dance routines that band performs with the songs - this is truly unique to FSE and all our guests loved it!
I had a HUGE 50th celebration just this past Saturday, 11/19/16, at The GlassHouse in downtown San Jose, CA, and I had hired The HitMen to perform live for my guests. First and foremost, they were a "hit" with my guests as everyone enjoyed all the songs they performed. They were so on-point! One of my guests has a performing band of his own, and he gave such glowing comments about the HitMen! The songs were so classic and so dance-able that some guests just would not sit down and take a break! ;-) But aside from their actual performance, it was great to work with Kelly Aronica who handles the scheduling for The HitMen. Kelly was extremely accommodating (i.e. I wanted to play my own playlist music on my iPod as the background music as people arrived) and worked well with my Event Planner and the folks at the venue. He was very professional; yet exuded a friendly warmth about him. It truly made the whole process of planning this huge event so much less stressful . . . and actually, quite enjoyable! :-) I wholeheartedly, and enthusiastically, will recommend The HitMen to my friends, and as the Head of HR for my company, I will keep them in mind for events for my corporate contacts and HR network. Thank you for being a part of my 50th celebration and for making it so memorable for my family and friends! Myra Tallerico email@example.com
Hot Rod Jukebox performed at the Atlas Cafe on Saturday January 9. They brought in about 30 people, which is excellent for this cafe. They performed two varied sets of 1960s oldies with a 6-piece group. Musicianship was excellent, and they engaged the crowd with a trivia contest, too. I definitely recommend Hot Rod Jukebox.
The GTS Band has been my favorite for years, so I was thrilled when I was asked to contract with them for a high school reunion. Rick was great and easy to work with. We placed the band centrally in the room to give the lead singer an opportunity to work the room as he performed--which he does so well. As always, the music was fantastic!
Isaac and the Haze is a fantastic dance band! They were really the perfect entertainment for last two parties of about 60 people each. We hired them because some of our co-workers had heard them play at the Crow's Nest in Santa Cruz. The guys arrived about an hour early to set up their sound equipment and were ready to play right on time. Isaac, the lead singer, plays a keytar and electric cello. He has a great voice, with a big range of emotion, and really engaged the audience in between songs. The lead and back-up vocals were great and consistently held up against the big beat of the band. Other band members played lead guitar, bass, drums, and keyboard. I was worried that their 5-member band would overpower the relatively small venue, but the sound levels were perfect, and they didn’t blast us to the back of the room. There were 20 or more people dancing all the time, including young kids and a grandma in her 90's. We really liked the numbers they performed, which were mostly covers of R&B music from the 2000's, like Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic, DNCE’s Cake By The Ocean, Maroon 5’s Moves Like Jaggar, and works by Justin Timberlake. You could tell the band members were all having a good time too and enjoyed what they were doing. Great music! Great entertainment!
Professional, talented musicians. A pleasure to deal with. They get it.
I'm a rock/jazz drummer with experience working out songs, building bands, and organizing live sets. I usually work with a guitarist and bassist, and I'm used to improvising new drum parts to go along with their riffs and solos. I'm less about crazy chops and drum solos, and more about just delivering a great, steady beat. I also manage a small practice space, Abbot Studio. Our recording equipment isn't great, but it's enough for a proof of concept, and I have a good relationship with a more professional recording studio, ShatteredRecords. I'm located in Dale City, CA.
