I believe in the transformative power of sitting still, that there is a medicine to be found in our lucid, fundamental state. When we wash ourselves in this self-compassionate essence, we return to our relationships and world with confidence and joy. In the practice of meditation, that medicine is there already, from the very first start, like a tiny light, ready to be deeply explored and grown over time into a reliable ally and refuge. I am a meditation teacher, having received my training as a seven year resident studying traditional Japanese Zen Buddhism at Green Gulch Farm and Tassajara Zen Mountain Center. Meditation remains my central daily practice. Tamalpais The most important qualities of an instructor are enthusiasm and skillful understanding gained through long experience – and meditation, like any rich discipline, benefits from one-on-one connections.
