Introduction: Having earned a degree at the conservatory level and a teaching credential in music education, my greatest asset is the uniqueness of my teaching style. Most private instructors have a predominantly performance background, while I have a combination of both performer and educator. To have experience on both sides of the coin are what make me a successful teacher. The things I love most about teaching are the connections I make with my students and witnessing their growth firsthand. I can describe it as the most fulfilling experience in my life. It is truly a joy and an honor to be a part of their lives and have a such a positive impact.

I was looking for a voice instructor who would be willing to work with a total novice, wouldn't mind that I wasn't looking to become a professional singer (but instead wanted to be better so as to make singing a hobby), and was open to helping me be better a "silly" songs. it needed to be FUN. Rhoda is *perfect* for me for these goals. In only two lessons I feel I've improved my technique and boosted my confidence. AWESOME. Thanks, Rhoda!

Before I always thought that I was someone who couldn’t sing, but in the months of lessons with Rhoda, I found a whole new confidence in my voice. She is very friendly and encouraging, so if you are shy like me, then I would recommend Rhoda. My lessons usually consist of a warm up session of various drills and singing a song that you chose to work on. Rhoda has a very attentive ear, and she gives great advice on how you could improve. Her warm personality allows you to go outside of the comfort zones of your voice without feeling embarrassed or anxious. Rhoda is a great instructor, and I would recommend her to anyone.

We engaged Rhoda for our sons piano lessons in November and we couldn't be happier with her. She is attentive, engaging and her love of piano and teaching really shows in her lessons and interaction with our son. We would recommend Rhoda for anyone wishing to take lessons- I'm thinking of taking some myself since she works with adults too.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For new students regardless of age or skill level, establishing a successful connection is key. It is important to use a holistic approach to assess the student: learning style, personality, and interests. This allows for lessons that cater specifically to the student and their success, enrichment, and enjoyment.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The advantage of having a combination of both conservatory and classroom music education training is that I am able to provide lessons that have a nice balance between the foundation of classical music and performance with the training and experience in education to actually be able to teach music.
