About

Hello! My name is Christie, and I have been teaching piano one-on-one for 16 years! It's always exciting for me to help my students get to a place in their learning where they can play the types, and genres, of music that excite them the most! Whether it's music from their favorite video game, anime, k-drama, movie, tv show, or a classical piece they heard, I want to see my students enjoy what they create, and feel proud in their achievements! In our lessons, students learn the tools for successful practicing at home, in order to see progress week after week. I writes out the lesson plan for that week, to help guide the student in their practice, and lessons are always tailored to each persons individual learning style. Some of the things we cover in our lessons are: * Ways to effectively practice * Proper technique and posture * Theory * Sight reading * Music games I would love to help you in your music endeavors and look forward to hearing from you!

My daughters have been taking lessons with Christie for many years and have learned a lot from her. We appreciate how organized and attentive she is during lessons. She has always been willing to work with our schedules and find songs that both challenge and interest the girls. Ms. Christie has been teaching our 6 year old daughter for almost 2 years and her progress has been dramatic. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Trial Lesson / Free $40 / 30 minutes $55 / 45 minutes $70 / 60 minutes All prices are for lessons only, and do not include learning materials, or piano. The student must have their own instrument. If 2 students are taking 30 minute lessons each, they would only have to pay the 1 hour rate, and not 2 individual 30 minute lesson rates.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
In the first lesson, I like to get to know the student, what their goals are, and what amount of musical knowledge they have (if any).
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my Bachelors of Music, from Cal State University, Fullerton.
