One reason I feel my work stands out is that I am not just a salesman or a company owner, I am a working contractor. I work my projects to assure that steady progress and quality is maintained. I own and run a business but I am a carpenter first. I do and have always enjoyed construction p. The ability to be able to transform an existing condition and turn it into something totally different is both challenging and a lot of fun. Taking ownership for everything that goes into every project is very important and it shows in the quality of the work. The pride you take in the final outcome is your signature in this and in any business. A clients satisfaction and word of mouth referral is the best advertisement and the greatest compliment you can receive for your work. Let's see, I guess having the opportunity to change and transform a certain structure. By adding, deleting or moving a few things around and being able to turn something into a whole different space is a lot of fun. Taking a structure that's been in a certain condition for some time and turning it completely around with just a little tweaking is fun. It's not always easy, often it's a lot of work, but if it's done well and correctly it can be very gratifying and rewarding for both the builder and the client.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
First I will tell you what i do not like. I do not like time and material projects, this leaves everything wide open for problems to develop either during or at the end of a project. I do not like giving people "Ballpark Estimates" This tends to give the potential client a false feeling for the work and the many possibilities for questions and mistrust if the numbers should vary, sometimes a lot, one way or another. I will visit the site, assess the work and present a Project Scope and Proposal with what I think the job will entail. Basically a Lump Sub proposal, where every one knows exactly what is going to be included in the project.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I didn't just stumble into this business. Having once completed my college education, I decided on a career in construction, specifically carpentry. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to join the Carpenters Union as an apprentice and I spent four years in the classroom and in the field learning my trade. I had many great experiences and gained a lot of knowledge during my time in the Carpenters Union. I feel that before you can be successful at anything, you have to learn as much as you can about that "thing" that you are claiming to be an expert at. So my work experience through the initial years really helped me to develop into the carpenter and contractor that I am today.
What types of customers have you worked with?
My jobs typically are single family residential projects. A sample of the types of projects I complete and services I supply are listed below. Home additions and complete residence renovations. Moldings and interior trim application Door upgrades and replacement Windows Interior and exterior remodeling of all types Kitchen Remodeling Bathroom Remodeling Decks Finish Carpentry Custom Cabinets and Installation A short list and I also work with a list of trusted sub-contractors needed for my projects, as well as material suppliers.
