FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing depends on the type of performance, event location, number of guests, performance length, and the amount of equipment needed. I provide a clear quote before the event so there are no surprises. Any possible travel or special setup fees will be explained in advance. Discounts may be available for nonprofit organizations, churches, repeat clients, multiple performances booked for the same event, and events held during non-peak dates or times.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I begin by learning about your event, including the date, location, number of guests, type of audience, schedule, and your goals for the entertainment. After learning about your event, I recommend the performance format that will work best, such as a featured corporate magic show, after-dinner entertainment, strolling magic, or a combination of services. Once the event is booked, I confirm the important details and remain available to answer questions. Before the event, I review the schedule, venue information, performance area, sound requirements, arrival time, and any special requests. On the day of the event, I arrive prepared and allow enough time to set up before guests need to be seated. My goal is to make the entertainment portion of your event easy, professional, and enjoyable from the first conversation through the final applause.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My training comes from years of studying, practicing, and performing magic for live audiences. Also, I have taken college level magic classes, and classes from professionals, even at the Magic Castle. Magic requires much more than learning how a trick works. It also requires training in presentation, timing, audience management, comedy, improvisation, communication, and showmanship. I continue to study the art of magic, attend lectures and conventions, learn from other professional performers, and develop new material for my shows. I am also involved with professional magic organizations, including the International Brotherhood of Magicians. My experience as a pastor and former police officer has also strengthened my public-speaking, leadership, communication, and people skills. These experiences help me relate comfortably to executives, employees, families, church groups, and audiences from many different backgrounds.
