I specialize in home visits to active agers over 50 in the Palo Alto, Los Altos, and Menlo Park areas, and those just starting to exercise after the age of 50. I can make exercise interesting with a combination of Yoga, Pilates, Dance-style warm ups, and body weight exercises.
It is amazing what people can do even if they start later in life! I am 66 and Pilates has helped me stay active, strong and flexible!
If you have noticed more injuries as you age I can relate. I used to run every day but found I needed lower impact exercise after the age of 50.
You don't need a lot of space to do Pilates or Yoga! Pilates can be done on the mat, using bands, balls and small equipment, or if you have the space for the Pilates chair or reformer I can help you set up a home studio that works for your needs.
I also bring small equipment to your home, such as bands, weights, mini trampoline, Nordic Stretch Stick, Pilates Foam roller, foldable mini reformer by Lhanel, and more.
I also am an experienced Yogi and dancer and can incorporate yoga and dance movement into your lessons. I am especially enamored of Salsa and can teach you salsa shines on the New York style to or west coast style 1, ladies styling. its great exercise.
If you want to get more cardio I can show you how to use hiking sticks to save your joints on hills.
I have a mini trampoline which is great for gaining better balance as you age and I can show you how to safely jump on a trampoline.
If you don't have the space for larger equipment like a reformer the mat work can be made very challenging and interesting with small equipment, like bands, Pilates Circle, hand weights, ankle weights, the Nordic Stretch Stick, Swiss Ball workouts, Bosu which is like a half ball, foam roll, and the mini foldable reformer.
