Over the years I have taken all 3 of my grandchildren to so many of the classes that Sylvia taught. They loved the classes. Not only did they learn a lot but we had fun and have great memories.

I have been taking culinary classes and working with Sylvia for over a decade! She is an incredibly knowledgable and patient instructor that can make any error into a joyful learning opportunity! She has made me a firm believer that kids can cook!

My first class was when I was eleven years old. Ten years later, I am in college and a fully functional human being...but I don't think I would know how to feed myself if it wasn't for Sylvia Rieman. She is the most patient, intelligent teacher I have ever had (college included!). She is great with little ones and adults alike!!!

I worked for Sylvia as an assistant for almost two years and it was the best work experience I have ever had. She was always compassionate, understanding, and extremely hard working, always willing to go above and beyond for her customers of all ages to ensure the best possible results. Before working for her, I attended one of her courses and it was one of the most fun and informing culinary classes I have ever taken part in. Sylvia is a highly experienced, culinary instructor and course director who can tackle any and all obstacles with consistent mastery, depth, and focus.

My god-daughter, age 11, absolutely loved her first baking class with Sylvia. Sylvia gave her a choice of what to make; she chose cinnamon rolls and reported back that it was perfect combination of great foundational learning and pure, sweet fun. She said the lesson was clear, well-paced, enjoyable -- and left her feeling very positive about her skill set as a possible baker/chef in the future. The ultimate proof of how terrific the lesson was for her? Not the delicious cinnamon rolls (which I happily sampled, multiple times) but that my god-daughter is extremely excited and eager to return for Lesson #2. A wonderful class with an experienced, talented and gracious teacher.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I normally charge by the hour with a minimum of two hours. There is usually an additional charge for groceries. I provide Recipe Packets with each lesson.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Consultation with the customer to see what their needs and wants are. Also, to decide on time and location.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Science I have a Master of Science in Nutrition Education. I taught High School Food Service Occupations, Food and Nutrition and International Foods for 26 years. At the same time I taught Food Processor Classes for Cuisinart and Let's Get Cookin'. I also taught Children's Teens and Parent/Child Classes at Let's Get Cookin'. Am currently teaching at the local Adult School and giving Private Lessons.
