FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I wouldn't call it complicated, but there is a sliding scale depending on where the massage services are rendered. For my home studio it is $65 for an 60 minutes, $85 for 90 minutes and $105 for 120 minutes. I will travel to the client's residence within the Santa Clarita or San Fernando valleys for an added $20 charge so the prices wiould be $85 for an 60 minutes, $105 for 90 minutes and $125 for 120 minutes. I am willing to travel outside of the Santa Clarita or San Fernando valleys but there will be an additional charge to be negotiated prior to the services being rendered depending on where the client is located.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am currently studying for my National certification and plan to learn more specifics on various sport massage therapies as well as cranioscaral therapy.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I previously worked as a home health care provider for people who have developmental disabilities. I was laid off from my last job in 2012 due to lack of funding and decided I was ready for a change. I had always enjoyed giving casual massage to friends and family who would often comment on my intuitive touch and say I'd make a great massage therapist. I had grown up learning Reiki and doing energy work, so the healing benefits of massage work appealed to me. Also, my mom has been a massage therapist for over 25 years and is absolutely amazing at what she does, so I guess you could say it's in my blood.
