Introduction: Working with people in a positive capacity. I love furthering education, the customer's as well as my own. In order to help educate another it is first necessary for the educator to be able to accept being educated by the student, too. Education, help, and communication are all two-way streets. One cannot teach if one does not learn; one has not learned if s/he cannot pass the information on to others.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure the person has not only the education but the experience in a particular subject. For example, I recently tutored someone for the CBEST (CA teaching cert) who had already spent months and thousands of dollars, who really only needed someone to listen to her concerns, address her weaknesses, and affirm her strengths. With me, this took only 6 sessions for a total of $120. She passed and regretted she hadn't looked outside the system until it was, almost, too late! I will not tutor or teach any subject in which I do not have a strong education and experience to back up! :)
