Introduction: Hi! My name is Debby Adelman and the owner of Creative Spaces Interior Design, Inc., and I'd like to tell you more about myself. First off, I love my job! This is a second career for me. Previously, I was in corporate accounting which allows me to bring in a whole different level of skill sets to the table. I am very sensitive to the budget and try to find ways to stay within my clients perimeters. In 2011 I went back to school to obtain and complete my education in Interior Design at Otis College of Arts & Design. Since then, I was featured in the June 2016 issue of Los Angeles Magazine and the August 2017 issue of ARCH Magazine for full remodel and addition in Echo Park. I was the interior designer and brought in every one from the architect who drew my concept, the general contractor, through the craftsmen for many many of the custom pieces. I enjoy working on both residential and commercial spaces. For every project I take on big or small, I am there every step of the way as project manager. I ensure the work is done as planned, handle any issues that should arise, and am always communicating with my client and third party vendors to ensure a smooth completed project. I am on the journey with my clients from inception through completion. My designs are custom to each project and at the end of the day, this is their space, and my job to deliver their dream. I love what I do and passion shows through my designs. I am not your average cookie cutter designer.

After owning my home for about 35 - it was time for a major overhaul. I also wanted to add an addition over my garage that included a new bedroom and to move a bathroom and laundry space that was in the original first floor so I could re-do the first floor as a completely open plan space. I was fortunate to find Debby and Creative Spaces Interior Design to work with me on this extensive (and often exhausting) project. Debby oversaw and project managed the entire renovation and addition and was involved in every detail. Her great taste, organizational skills and financial management throughout an 18 month project were invaluable to the final results and to the level of satisfaction that I have with my "new" home. She was not only a terrific partner with wonderful taste but was critical in finding the contractor, custom furniture makers, and other artisans that were needed to get this done. I would recommend Debby to anyone needing similar work done. She was not only consistantly fun, tasteful and a put joy to work with but I believe we will remain friend long after I have resettled back in my home.

Working with Debby was a great pleasure. As soon as I met her, she was more like a friend than just my interior Designer, which made me feel comfortable. I was overwhelmed with choices of colors and accessories, but Debby solved that problem. She got to work immediately when she saw my home and gave me great advise and found me some stunning pieces to work with by her diligent research at various stores. My husband and I recently moved into our house in Torrance, CA.. We hired Debby and her company Creative Spaces Interior Design, Inc. to help us make it a home. She got a feel for our likes and dislikes almost immediately. She has a great insight in planning and design. She valued our thoughts and ideas and closely worked with them. She used and incorporated existing furniture, pictures and family heirlooms that were very important to us. She knows how to combine old styles with new modern styles to achieve the perfect desired effect for that "wow" factor that we were looking for. She is very detailed oriented and quite the perfectionist. She turned our home into something we are extremely proud of. It is warm, comfortable and inviting. I interviewed 4 other interior designers and chose DACH design because Debby and Christine "got it". I gave all designers the same information regarding the feel I was going for, my husband's and my likes and dislikes, and our budget. Christine and Debby came back with an outstanding design that worked within our budget (though I did end up splurging on a couple of items) and were very flexible with our timelines. Their presentation was professional and informative and let us know exactly what we would be getting into with our project. They had good quality control and oversaw all the contractors that came in to work on our condo. My husband and I love the outcome and look forward to many years of enjoyment in our beautifully designed home. It was a pleasure working with Debby and Christine and I highly recommend DACH Design.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    I have three billing structures depending on the scope of work. A simple design plan with 3D visuals, a Pinterest board, and a budget, I typically charge a flat rate. Consulting projects I typically charge an hourly rate of $125 per hour. For larger projects and project management, that includes all of the above, I charge 15% of the entire budget.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    I like to meet with my potential clients and get a feel for them, for their style, and their needs. Trust is the most important factor when working with a client. Client's need to feel comfortable with me, and I with them. Most times I am working in a space when my clients are not home and they need to feel secure. That is the primary reason I never charge for the initial meeting.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    I attended OTIS College of Art and Design and obtained my certificate in Interior Design.
