My daughter had not been able to take lessons for a while so we found Maddy on Thumbtack and started with once a week lessons. She quickly assessed my daughter's skills and wasted no time getting her back on track, correcting her technique, and moving her forward. She is knowledgeable, personable, and my daughter likes studying with her very much. We are pleased to have found her!

Maddy Reese is an excellent piano teacher! She is thorough, professional and encouraging, not only with regard to lessons, but recitals and NYSSMA prep. as well. My daughter benefited tremendously under Maddy's instruction.

Maddy taught my twin daughters piano. They were 11 years old at the time and one has a learning disability and ADHD. Maddy was an energetic and skilled teacher. She was able to teach to the learning style of both girls. Maddy is patient, talented and able to tailor her lessons to needs and ability of each child. She was/is a fantastic teacher. We were sad when she moved to LA.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Half an hour lessons are $35 per hour. If you'd like to take a full hour lesson, my charge is $70. I also offer 45 minute lessons, which are $50. You can pay cash, check, or electronically through Venmo, the Cash App, or Apple Pay. You can pay one class at a time, or for up to 2 months of lessons in advance. I offer a siblings discount of $5 per hour. (Ie: 2 half hour lessons would only be $65 total.)
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
On our first lesson, I provide my own books and sheet music for us to work from, if needed. For brand new players, I always start with the fundamentals, and for experienced players, I assess skill level and what you are interested in playing so we can move forward in the most beneficial and fun way possible!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have years of experience playing in jazz bands, symphonic orchestras, marching bands, accompanying my students at festivals, and playing at charity events.
