Introduction: I have 20 years of experience. 20 years of trial and error on myself and every different body-type. But what makes me stand out the most is that I actually CARE about not only getting my clients to reach their fitness goals, but care about them as a person which means listening to everything from bad days at work to their relationships at home. When you spend hours a week with a trainer, you better hope they are good listeners! I love being in the gym and getting to motivate so many different clients everyday. I actually make a difference in their lives, so they tell me (!), and that is extremely fulfilling!

Fitness & health have always been extremely personal to me so when I was thinking about hiring a trainer to push me to the level of fitness I wanted to achieve – I knew I’d have to do some research before I committed to just anybody. I came across a picture of a girl I went to high school with who won a fitness competition, Olympia 2011 – Bikini and was completely AMAZED at her transformation and knew that whoever trained her had to be THE BEST!!! The best is DAN FINE. It took one meeting with him to know that he was not your run of the mill trainer – he was and is 100% the person who would be able to get me to my fitness goals and surpass them! Dan Fine knows what he is talking about – not only about the actual training but of the importance of nutrition. He taught me how to combine these two things together to get the best results possible! Dan practices what he preaches too and is pretty much a walking billboard for fitness! My hour workout with Dan each week is something I look forward to because I know that it’s going to be the toughest but most rewarding hour of the week! My workouts are tailored towards my own personal goals of transforming my lower body. Personally, my lower body has always been the hardest to see changes in but each week I just put my trust in Dan and do exactly what he says to do…when Dan says lunge, I lunge! He’s so inspiring and motivating that you want to push through and finish every single rep and earn that sweat! He’s professional, honestly cares about getting results, and gives undivided attention! When it’s your time to train, it’s YOUR time to train! Since I have been training with Dan, I’ve seen the biggest changes in my body and others are starting to take notice as well! I look in the mirror sometimes and actually say, “Whoa, is that me??” Ha! All my measurements are smaller, my clothes fit loose, I have more definition and more than anything it’s given me a confidence I never knew I had! I feel fit, strong, and healthy and it’s all because of Dan Fine! I am SO thankful that I found Dan and am certain I will train with him for the rest of my life!!!

I've been training with Dan Fine for just over 5 years now, and he's the ONLY reason I've actually got anywhere. I'd done the same pointless gym routines everyone does and gained basically nothing, so when my office moved down the road from North Hollywood Gold's I decided to join and watch the trainers for a couple of months. You know how gyms are - pick the wrong trainer and you're stuck with him/her unless you want the uncomfortable "break-up" chat and then you have to see them every time you go (it's happened to me). I decided on Dan because he was clearly genuinely focused on his clients, which most trainers are not, and whoever I asked about him said he was the real deal. I picked well. He's a big dude, but don't let that fool you - he's a totally cool guy that tailors the workout to what you want out of it. His other clients are all ages and abilities. Be prepared to really do it, but that's why we're there, right? My body started changing because we hit it hard, and properly, and he taught me how to eat to gain. I had no idea food really is at least 50% of the process. Anyway, 5 years later I get a lot of compliments on my body now, which is awesome and weird for me since I was always the skinny guy, and so have gained a lot of confidence from that. It's been a life-changer, as they say. I guess the most important thing for me is that we always have a blast when we train - it makes it so much easier for me to go since I'm not a real motivated guy. I still see many people from 5 years ago who literally haven't changed, coz they don't work out correctly and certainly don't eat correctly. Do yourself a favor and get a trainer that knows what they're talking about. Obviously I would recommend Dan, since IMHO he's the best (as evidence of this, he trains many peeps for competition with many first place finishes, so he knows his s**t). Just do me a favor and DO NOT take my timeslot...

Dan's passion for fitness is evident. I've been training with him for 2 years and I always learn new things, push myself more under his careful guidance and just overall look better. Personally, I've gotten more than just fitness out of our professional relationship. I've gained a trusted friend and someone I can look up to for health related goals! Go!

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I have been interested in health and fitness since I was twelve years old. I got my first sand-filled weight set at fourteen, and have never looked back. I became a personal trainer at 20 years old because I loved to share my workout knowledge and tips with anyone who wanted it. I love working out and I wanted (and still do!) to share the "message" with everyone!

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

When in the market for a personal trainer, ask for references. Make sure the trainer doesn't try to make you pay for several sessions up front without taking at least one to two sessions to decide if he is the right fit for you. Ask how long he has been a trainer because experience is everything in this field. Ask if being a trainer is his full-time career or does he really want to be an actor? Make sure he pays full attention to you and your form for the ENTIRE hour and doesn't get distracted by friends in the gym, the game on TV, or Facebooking on his iPhone every ten minutes!
