Ruben was fantastic. Communicated promptly and clearly, showed up on time, and did terrific work. We needed a couple gaps in tile filled in as well as grout repair. He worked with me to choose colors and made sure I was ok with things as he went along. He was a real pleasure to work with. I'd certainly hire him again the next time I have tile-related needs.

We hired Ruben from D.B.R. Tile after a major leak required our master bathroom floor to be demolished down to the framing. He waterproofed the room, added an emergency floor drain, and installed 24"x48" large-format tile with incredible precision.
A few reasons Ruben stands out:
Uncompromising integrity: Despite living 1.5 hours away, he stopped work after demo when he noticed the subfloor had too much flex, refusing to proceed until the foundation was rigid enough to prevent cracked grout down the line.
Thoughtful planning: He anticipated complex layout details early, like how the tile will transition to the walls and bedroom, and whether he should slope the floor. He involved me with each decision and patiently explained the trade-offs.
Incredible craftsmanship: Laying 24"x48" tile flat and even is notoriously difficult, but his layout and joint alignment are immaculate.
Fair pricing: His quote was the most competitive we received.
