I submitted my request on a Sunday evening and within minutes Robert called and stated that he can fix my electrical problem and he would come to my home that evening. We made arrangements for him to come the next evening after I got home from work. When Robert came he explained to me all what was needed and what he can do to solve the problem. When the job was done he notice that only the back portion of the home was on and not the front portion of the house. He went through the house and checked all electrical outlets and notice no power was coming out of any of the outlets from the front portion of the home. It was getting late in the evening and I suggested he come back the following weekend and try to locate the problem. He agreed and we are awaiting his arrival this weekend. Robert is very knowledgeable and confident in his work. We are very pleased with the electrical issue that he fixed and is looking forward for him to come back again and locate the problem with the electricity for the front portion of the house. What he charged us was very reasonable. I would highly recommend Robert.

Chris "Robert" did an amazing job. He was very personable and stepped me through the entire process. I can honestly say (and not exaggerating) he saved my family's life. There was a wire that arced and was running on a breaker that should have tripped. Needless to say, the breaker did not trip as it could have and posed a huge risk and burned the home that I made for my family, to the ground.
Chris changed the wires and ensured every single line was connected and secured per code. He spent the extra time answering all questions I had and made sure that I knew exactly what was wrong, the implications, and how he fixed it. Furthermore, he hooked up a machine that read the output of all of my lines and went through every piece of equipment in my house to see what was running higher than it should have and what the actual cost of using the equipment was.
Also, he made sure I knew the cost before hand and applied all of the second hour of service towards fixes to my equipment.
I can not giver higher praise for the caliber of professionalism Chris has. I will ABSOLUTELY use his service again if/when I need it. I highly recommend him as the go to electrician if every you need one. Thanks for doing an incredible job Chris.

Chris is a professional electrician that I cant speak highly enough of. I purchased a home built in 1957 with a detached granny flat. After spending a significant amount of money last summer on electrical work when I purchased my home I was in shock when the power to the granny flat went out. I reached out to multiple electricians on Thumbtack to diagnose the problem and give me an estimate. Chris (R. C. Gurd Electric) was the only one who provided me with multiple options and spent the time weighing out the pros and cons. Due to the unique features of my lot size and granny flat, Chris spent time researching the zoning class for Sacramento, the original building records and some of the details in my closing paperwork. For those of you who know the use code for my property was A1A which means I only had 1 house on my property and didnt recognize the granny flat. Chris went above and beyond by reach out to the county assessors office and the city planning department to provide me with all the required information to change my use code to A2A. With the new A2A Chris pulled the required permits, installed a circuit breaker and had Smud set up a second account to my granny flat. Long story short, with all of Chriss hard work and assistance my property value has gone up due to the granny flat being able to be a rental. Chris has really gone above and beyond for me.

Chris Hurd, of RG Hurd Electricians, is thoroughly professional. He has in-depth knowledge of his profession with over 30 years experience. He is thoroughly knowledgeable and talented. I am helping my daughter renovate a 53-year old house. The reason we chose Chris on Thumbtack is that he was able to diagnose some of the problems in the house from our description of the electrical troubles, such as flickering lights and it turned out he was right. He is punctual, personable, and offers cost-saving solutions. He is very adept at solving problems and his pricing is very fair.

We hired Robert to upgrade our electrical box and run electrical to an outbuilding in our backyard. Robert was very helpful and knowledgeable. He expedited the permits process as well as the inspectors and smud. He was polite and professional. We would definitely recommend him and will use him in the future for our electrical needs.
