I would certainly recommend R.C Gurd Electric Co.
I hired Chris not long after our initial walk-through of my project. What caught my attention was his expeditious reply to my job inquiry, and availability to come out for a look. After seeing the scope of my lighting project, within a couple days he emailed me a very detailed proposal and had some great ideas for me to consider. Chris's communication via email, phone, and txt was always great. During our first meeting I found him to not only be extremely knowledgeable with home lighting but he has extensive commercial experience; leading me to believe he can handle any size and complexity of project. Chris is also friendly and professional. He could work on his timeliness, but once on the job he is a steady, thorough worker and stays on-site until the job is complete. I was very impressed with all that he accomplished in a just a couple days.
My house is 100 years old. So adding recessed lighting to a lath & plaster ceiling with older wiring was no easy task. Chris introduced me to another superb contractor that worked in conjunction with Chris (separately contracted) to patch the ceilings and other holes that adding lighting and switches inevitable creates. I am extremely pleased with the outcome, look and feel of my new recessed lighting.

I had Chris (Robert) do my entire kitchen and dining room lighting. I replaced the old "box style" lighting in the kitchen with recessed lighting and pendant lighting and got rid of all my brass fixtures in the dining room and entry way. Chris and his crew did an outstanding job!
There was a lot of stuff I wanted done as far as lighting and wasn't sure from a cost perspective if I could do everything at one. Chris came over for the initial consultation walked through everything with me, understanding why I wanted to change things out, what was lacking, and made recommendations.
Within a couple of days he emailed me a visual layout of the rooms we discussed, along with exactly what he was going to do and mapped them out on the diagram. He also broke out the pricing for me based on my priority of what I wanted done. I was very impressed with the quality of estimate he provided, and the very detailed pricing estimates I received.
In addition to all the lighting, I also wanted updated ceiling fans with lights installed in all the bedrooms and living room. Chris and his team were super fast in getting those installed as well.
There was quite of bit of work that needed to get done and Chris brought enough man power with him to complete everything over the weekend for me.
Even after I settled in with the new lighting, I called Chris a couple of time for "tweeks" and he was more than happy to come out and do whatever adjustments I wanted at no additional charge. He also gave me extra lights to keep handy for the future.
I would highly recommend RC Gurd for all your lighting and electrical needs. You won't be disappointed!

Chris Hurd, of RG Hurd Electricians, is thoroughly professional. He has in-depth knowledge of his profession with over 30 years experience. He is thoroughly knowledgeable and talented. I am helping my daughter renovate a 53-year old house. The reason we chose Chris on Thumbtack is that he was able to diagnose some of the problems in the house from our description of the electrical troubles, such as flickering lights and it turned out he was right. He is punctual, personable, and offers cost-saving solutions. He is very adept at solving problems and his pricing is very fair.

I submitted my request on a Sunday evening and within minutes Robert called and stated that he can fix my electrical problem and he would come to my home that evening. We made arrangements for him to come the next evening after I got home from work. When Robert came he explained to me all what was needed and what he can do to solve the problem. When the job was done he notice that only the back portion of the home was on and not the front portion of the house. He went through the house and checked all electrical outlets and notice no power was coming out of any of the outlets from the front portion of the home. It was getting late in the evening and I suggested he come back the following weekend and try to locate the problem. He agreed and we are awaiting his arrival this weekend. Robert is very knowledgeable and confident in his work. We are very pleased with the electrical issue that he fixed and is looking forward for him to come back again and locate the problem with the electricity for the front portion of the house. What he charged us was very reasonable. I would highly recommend Robert.

"Chris" (RC) knew exactly what to do, and how to do it when he upgraded my electrical outlet so I can change from Gas to an electrical stove. He chose quality materials and did a perfectionist job. I will have complete faith in his knowledge, skill and integrity. Thank you, Chris!
He even found that some of my solar monitoring system had been disconnected. He reconnected it so that I will get the full credit for the power my solar array generates. That was au gratis. Thanks, Chris!
