I am a conservatory-trained flutist and dedicated private instructor with over 15 years of playing and teaching experience. I studied flute performance for four years at the esteemed and historic "Music College named after N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov" in Saint Petersburg, Russia, where I received intensive classical training in the Russian conservatory tradition under respected pedagogues including Olesya Tertychnaya.
During my studies and professional development, I performed extensively in orchestral, chamber, and solo settings. I served as principal flute for my college orchestra’s graduation concert, which was held at the historic Mariinsky Theatre. I was also awarded 2nd place in the North State Symphony Young Artist Concerto Competition, a juried competition for outstanding young instrumentalists. I have participated in masterclasses with internationally acclaimed flutists such as Emmanuel Pahud, James Galway, and Denis Bouriakov.
I continue to actively refine my playing and teaching through private study with renowned flutists Natalia Gerakis in Greece and Olesya Tertychnaya in Russia via online lessons. This ensures that my students benefit from current, high-level professional guidance.
In addition, I have completed teacher training in the KinderFlute method with internationally recognized educator Kathy Blocki, allowing me to work effectively with very young beginners using age-appropriate, developmentally sound techniques.
Today, I am an active freelance flutist and private instructor, performing with local ensembles including Apollo Arts Orchestra and Chorus, church ensembles, and as a substitute with inConcertSierra Orchestra.
My Teaching Approach
My teaching is rooted in the structured, disciplined methodology of the Russian conservatory school while also incorporating modern pedagogical approaches for younger students. I focus on developing strong fundamentals, refined tone production, musical expression, and effective practice habits so that students build lasting, reliable technique.
Each lesson follows a clear progression plan while adapting to the student’s individual pace, goals, and musical interests. I use a step-by-step “ladder system,” ensuring students fully master each level before advancing, which prevents technical gaps and builds confidence.
I integrate music theory, listening skills, and musical interpretation into lessons so students grow into well-rounded musicians, not just instrumentalists.
What Makes My Lessons Different
• Conservatory-style technical training
• Ongoing study with internationally recognized flutists
• Certified KinderFlute training for young beginners
• Structured, long-term progression plan
• Detailed lesson notes, assignments, and instructional recordings
My goal is not only to help students play the flute well, but to help them develop confidence, independence, and a lifelong appreciation for music.

I teach:
