I am very glad that I found and hired Marina. She is a very personable, sweet and kind person. Her fashion knowledge and experience is clearly evident in her work. I sought her services for a wardrobe update and I was very pleased. She came to my home, evaluated my closet and made suggestions based on my personal preferences. Then she shopped for me and found items to match what I was seeking. I really appreciate this aspect as I generally do not enjoy shopping at the mall. We found several items that I like and I now have a new place to shop and ideas on how to match items. I tend to shop for convenience, comfort and not much for style and fashion trends. I am the shopper that buys the same shirt, pants, and shoes in various colors. However, after working with Marina I have broadened my options to include new vibrant colors, patterns and styles that I usually would not choose nor consider. I give Marina five stars for her professionalism, expert sense of fashion, and very pleasant personality.

Marina is an angel. I am in an odd period where I have gained a little weight and a lot of curves, and before working with Marina, I had NO idea how to dress myself as both a single mother and a business professional. My closet was completely outdated and full of clothes that were far too young and tiny for me. She helped me confidently purge everything to make room for some more high quality staples that fit me right now, not as I was or as I hope to be. Our shopping trip to Potomac Mills was great! I have to admit, Im timid and a bit unsure when trying on new outfits (Im the type that stares into a dressing room mirror and worries and frets for 10 minutes), but Marina made the trip productive and fast, to keep me under budget and within our time constraints (single mom, major budget). I have a list of ideas now on what I should be purchasing to accentuate my figure in the most appropriate way, without being boring or matronly. Hiring a personal wardrobe stylist was something completely out of my realm of life. But I feel like it was absolutely a fantastic investment. Im really really enthusiastic about shopping now and trying on clothes that will flatter me rather than making me look frumpy or outdated. Plus Marina is very enthusiastic, positive, high-energy, and a genuine joy to be around. She made the whole experience a blast!

I started a new job in November and wanted to update my wardrobe to reflect my new position and make a good impression. Marina did an audit of my closet, and then a few weeks later we went shopping to pick up missing and complementary pieces. I thought she did an excellent job helping me weed out the pieces that needed to be retired from my closet, showing me how I can combine my current pieces in new ways to extend my wardrobe, and showing me how to wear my existing clothes better with some simple tailoring. Having pieces that I truly love in my closet makes it much, much easier to get dressed in the morning, rather than having to weed through the clothes I don't like that much to choose something. Marina was easy to work with, and listened to what I liked or didn't like. While in the store, she suggested new looks that I wouldn't have chosen myself, but I could also veto any thing I really didn't like. It really felt like I was going shopping with a good friend. And she even got me out of my Banana Republic rut - there's a whole new world of fashion out there for me now! With both the "new" outfits that she created from existing clothes, as well as the brand outfits that Marina put together, I get complements regularly on my style. I get a whole new level of confidence my knowing I'm projecting a good image of myself to my new colleagues. I feel like Marina's time and skill were extremely worthwhile investments. Most of all, I love the look book she did. My job is so stressful I don't have time to worry about how I look and what to wear. So if I can't think of anything to wear, I look at the photos and get inspired. I wish we had taken pictures of everything in my closet just to make it easier to get dressed every day!

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I always start with a free initial phone conversation that will determine if we have a chemistry to work together. During our chat I find out more about my potential client, their lifestyle and goals. If it's a go, we usually start with a closet audit where we decide what to keep, tailor, donate, or toss. Once we accomplish that, we take whatever is left and create a lookbook for future reference. We then go shopping to hunt down the pieces that are missing in their wardrobe. Everything on the shopping list is customized to a client's needs! Every customer is different though so the process is adjustable to whatever is best for them!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I completed a certification as a Fashion Stylist and Personal Shopper in Munich, Germany!
How did you get started doing this type of work?
Being a military spouse pushed me into a career direction that I dreamed about but at some point didn't even know excited. I am so grateful to my clients who make it all happen!
