The day I met Jayne was the brightest of days! I honestly don't know where I would be without her.
I bought my wedding dress used online and it ended up being just a tad small. And of course I know that a too small dress is WAY harder to fix than one that's too big. So I was in a bit of a pickle.
Enter Jayne. This woman works miracles. She came to my house, (armed with biscuits for my dog no less), sat with me and drank tea AND fashioned me the dress of my dreams. Not only does the dress fit me like a glove now, but it's even more flattering than the original design! She took out weird pleats that didn't flatter my shape, added stunning cap sleeves and even built a bra that's undetectable and works perfectly for the dress so I can dance my face of at my wedding without worrying about a wardrobe malfunction.
Now she's altering my future-husband's suit and I'm combing through my closet trying to find more things she can fix just so I can spend more time with her.
It's just the icing on the cake that her prices are reasonable and she's a treasure of a woman. Seriously, no matter what you need designed, altered, torn apart or built from scratch, Jayne is your gal.

I was SO lucky to find Jayne through thumbtack. She was a dream to work with. I needed a modest wedding dress. I wasn't coming across anything in the stores I liked or would work, so I decided I would have it custom made from scratch. I luckily was able to find Jayne, and she really made my dream a reality. I know nothing about sewing, fabrics, etc. She helped me pick the best fabrics, giving me different options in different price ranges. She also explained to me the different options I had in executing my vision. I loved that she would always give me options, as I can be pretty picky down to the detail when it comes to designing things. Not only is she super talented and did everything with perfection, she is just such a pleasure to talk to! She was always there to listen to my other wedding stresses and offer her advice in any way she could (especially when I was stressing over my DIY decorations). From the moment she took me on as a client, I did not have to stress one bit over the dress, which was a huge relief considering all the other things I had to stress over with planning a wedding. I HIGHLY recommend her for any custom designs or just alterations too!

Six stars (if I could). A family stuffed animal and a real animal (a pet dog) had a fight, and my stuffed animal needed some real repairs. I visited several alterations shops in the area, and none of the shops said they had the right equipment or knowledge to restore the animal. I found Jayne on Thumbtack and was thrilled. Among the qualities I observed:
- Great customer service! For a small fee she came to pick up and drop off the item at my office. Saved me a ton of time/mailing hassle.
- Attention to detail! The item was restored perfectly.
- Creative and can-do! You can trust Jayne with bigger, more complex, think-out-of-the-box alterations, repairs and so on. I imagine she's the right person to make your wedding dress perfect, repair something vintage, or otherwise take on a project for which your average seamstress just doesn't know where to start.

Jayne Serba is an absolutely amazing seamstress/tailor and person.
I found Jayne on thumbtack after being shocked by 1. what other seamstresses wanted to charge to alter a simple wedding dress, 2. the crazy wedding industry in general.
Jayne was friendly and warm from the moment I contacted her, and made the dress fitting process a breeze (even though the dress turned out to be more complicated than either of us thought!).
She was able to alter my dress in ways I did not even think were possible and made it look better than I had even hoped. She also altered my husbands suit and my mothers dress, all to perfection. In our multiple meetings it was so clear that she just wanted us to be happy and feel good about our attire. She was a ray of light in our wedding planning process, for which I will always be grateful!
Jayne is a wonderful, down to earth person, who is amazing at what she does. I feel so fortunate to have found her!

Bravo! Jayne is amazing at her craft. She seriously impressed me altering my gown for my sons wedding and my very pregnant daughter’s gown. The dresses were beaded and complicated and when she returned them, they not only fit perfectly but you couldn’t tell they were altered. She has this immediate instinct on what needs to be done to make the dress fit exactly the way it was designed. They fit like they were tailored for us. Besides being experienced and professional, she is easy-going and makes you feel so comfortable working with her. I can’t wait to have her work with us again on our next special occasion. Our doggie loves hers too! 😊
