Anna Kennedy has had a violin & viola teaching studio open to players of all ages and experience levels since 2018. She is a certified beginning Suzuki Violin teacher, and enjoys teaching both children and adults. A lifelong musician and Berklee College of Music alum, she is a seasoned professional — an expert improvisor who is well-versed in classical, jazz, and American folk music styles. Anna’s lessons are individually catered to each student’s experience level, musical interests, and goals, all interwoven with expert musicianship and self-care techniques/practices for string players. She is a warm, kind, and thorough teacher. Lessons are offered in person or online. All levels, ages 6 to adult welcome!

We are so lucky to have found such an incredible violin teacher for Ruby! Ruby asked for a violin for her 2nd birthday. It seemed too early. When she asked again for her 3rd birthday, we obliged. 4 is a bit young to start lessons but when I met Anna (who is an incredibly talented violinist), we agreed to give it a try. Anna really connects with Ruby. They focus on basic rhythms and form. There is a real reverence in the lessons. I don’t know how Anna does it, but she has become Ruby’s musical Miyagi! If you are looking for a violin teacher, Anna is incredible.

I loved taking lessons with Anna. She was so patient with me and really took a holistic approach to my learning needs. It’s quite challenging learning a new instrument as an adult but she made the process so pleasant. She is very adaptable and looks at everything in the equation of your personal learning style.
