Hello there! Here are some reasons you should consider hiring me. First and foremost, because I’m honest. I will tell you exactly what is going on, what I can do about it, and how much it will cost. I may need to be in front of the piano to give all the details, but I will never charge extra for basic repairs (things like sticky keys, squeaky pedals, etc are usually able to be repaired without other parts, which otherwise could cost money), so most of the time my initial quote is accurate. I also don’t charge for a “pitch raise” which is where a piano that hasn’t been tuned in a long time and therefor is very low needs to be pulled up to “concert pitch” (A 440hz), though depending how bad it is it may require multiple tunings (which again I can find out once I’m at the piano and will discuss before proceeding one way or the other). This is something I’ve heard other technicians charge extra for. Second, because I genuinely care. I love music, and musical instruments, and especially the piano. Every piano matters to me, and I will always do my best to make it sound it’s best. My greatest joy is knowing an instrument may have the chance to be played again, to sound good again, and to be enjoyed by those who play it, and listen to it. I’ve had so many opportunities to bring a piano back from virtual death, where it hadn’t been played in years, and was in bad shape, to sounding great, and being enjoyed again, and it makes me so so happy. :)
