Introduction
We each possess a great wellspring of aliveness which yearns to come forth and express itself no matter what long-held beliefs act to constrict its expression. I see the process of therapy as both loosening the knots of old beliefs and finding ways to tap into this aliveness, in order to live a more authentic and satisfying life. When working with clients, I use an approach that is relational and collaborative, helping clients make the best use of the strengths they bring to therapy. My work incorporates experiential, somatic, and mindfulness-based approaches. I received a master’s degree in transpersonal counseling psychology from JFK University, have received postgraduate training in existential contemplative psychotherapy, and have completed the two-year comprehensive training in Hakomi, a mindfulness-based method of somatic psychotherapy. I am also trained in EMDR, and often use this with clients dealing with the effects of trauma. Additional influences include psychodynamic, Jungian, sandtray and expressive arts therapies. I have lived for extended periods of time in both Germany and Japan, and am familiar with cross-cultural and expatriate issues.

FAQs

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

The decision to begin psychotherapy is an important one, often requiring a significant investment in time, money, and inter work. It is important that you find a therapist who you feel comfortable with to accompany you on this journey. Learning more about a therapist's specific training can also help you identify someone with experience in issues you want to address.
