FAQs
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
The engraving market is flooded with the basic engraved items for gifts, awards or shadow boxes. You'll mostly find rotary engraving or laser engraving, so either way it is usually done by some sort of machine. I don't see how something like 3 lines at 30 characters per line are free but after that its $.30 a character is fair business when a machine does the work. Instead of focusing on some elaborate pricing matrix a true engraver would be focused on honing their skills, expanding their capabilities with their equipment and creating amazing works of art. Be sure to find an engraving artist and not a corporate engraving company. Understand there may be a lot of time spent on a high quality piece so don't always settle on the least expensive bid. Look for the artist who shows interest in making your final product the best it can be.
