My wife and I were getting married in March of 2013. The wedding preparations and schedule were hectic. As the day got closer and closer, the anticipation was killing me!!! Then came the day of the wedding. I met Deyo and Kyle as they spent the beginning of the day with my bride and I. In my head, these were the guys that were going to capture my wedding on video for the rest of eternity. These would be the guys that would create the film that my wife, my future children, my friends and family would view 10, 15, 20, 50 years from that day. Deyo was with me in my ready room as I was getting ready. He made the experience easy as he asked me questions about how I met my wife, when we met, where we met and so on. He took my mind off of the anticipation of the day. Throughout the ceremony and reception, they were in the background taking pictures, videos and editing the entire time. When I checked on them throughout the reception (because I wanted to make sure that everyone at the event was okay and having a good time) they were working tirelessly on our video. According to my wife, Kyle was with her keeping her calm, making her laugh and recording the day of the event. Towards the end of the reception, the video was ready for our viewing pleasure. My wife and I have LARGE families. We've been to many many many weddings. The video that Deyo and Kyle put together for us made our wedding. They captured the emotion, the anticipation, the feelings that my wife and I were both feeling all throughout the planning, throughout the months of waiting and finally throughout that day. The music, the scenes, the video they captured... I still don't know how to say thank you enough to District 12 Films. They're innovative in their craft and bring a rare level of professionalism that is really hard to find when dealing with people that you barely know. On our once in a lifetime event, they made the day even more memorable. To this day, when our family, friends and us watch the video that they created for us, it brings us back and puts tears in our eyes and smiles on our faces. I know that sounds cheesy, but it is absolutely true. Thank you again guys!!!!

As a young adult with a mediocre job and financial limitations, I feel that I was provided the best quality of service from District 12 Films. I requested their services for my high school graduation video after seeing their other work (high school graduations, SDE, and weddings) Not only was I impressed with the quality of their work, but also with their time management skills and work ethic. They were very professional and always got a hold of me to make sure we were on the same page of what my expectations were for the final product. These gentlemen are hardworking, conscientious, and put their clients satisfaction above anything else. I was very pleased with the end result of the video. Not only do I have a keepsake, I also have great memories of my own personal success and time spent with my family especially my grandmother "Gram" who has since then passed away. Everytime I watch the beautifully made video it's like my Gram is still here. And that in itself is enough for me to recommend District 12 films to anyone who is wishing for the best quality of work. Thank You District 12 Films!

Hired on Thumbtack

I was looking for a wedding videographer.... I found District 12 films through Thumbtack. For some unknown reason District 12 films decided to reach out and offer me a discount even though it wasn't asked for. The offer sounded great and we decided to communicate by means of email. I had the displeasure of working with Kyle from District 12 films. Kyle cannot seem to keep his email organized because he kept emailing me random comments referring to himself as "an airhead" or simply stating something that made no sense. On the day of our first and only meet Kyle called my fiancee about 20 minutes prior to our scheduled meet to tell us that traffic was just to bad for him to make it. That should have been my first red flag. However, I liked the work that was displayed on the District 12 films site and I decided to continue on. Bad move! I asked to see some examples of the other edits that are offered through their services because I simply wasn't interested in the "same day edit". The "same day edit" is the only example edit displayed on the District 12 Films website. Kyle was very pushy about getting the same day edit done even after I said I was not interested. Instead of taking the time to send me examples of other edits and to clear up any miscommunications present Kyle just skirted around every question I asked. His replies were never relevant to my concerns. Instead he had the nerve to refer to the fact that the services were "deeply discounted". I never asked for a discount I asked for a professional. I can now say that District 12 Films is anything but professional.
District 12 Films's reply
Unfortunately, communication was a key issue in this event. While Jacqueline is correct that she was quoted a discounted rate, she was defensive and negative about videography from the start. She mentioned that she was concerned about “bait and switch”. We do offer a discount on Thumbtack, to fill in any open spots in our schedule, however, the continued mention of a discount only came when the client became confused about the price menu we sent with our regular pricing. We spoke with this client on several occasions and WE chose to withdraw from participating in her event, resulting in the above review. We wish Jacqueline well in her future endeavors.
