Thanks for your help Chase. We truly want all to go well for you
I'm a single mother as well as an accountant. Value goes hand in hand with cost as far as where I'll spend my money and John was wonderful. John and Karla arrived on time, walked me through the drywall repair work I requested in detail, and the timeline to finish it. Im a stickler for very fine drywall texture and the finished work was beautiful. They were friendly decent people. Very professional and impeccable work. I'd hire them again and recommend them for drywall repair.Dec 17, 2017VerifiedJohn A.'s reply
Thank you so much Teresa I look forward to doing more work for you!
We are putting up our home for sale, and needed a full-home clean. Our professional real estate photos were the next day, and we have an open house a few days later and I needed the house to look perfect. I was lucky enough to find Karla on Thumbtack - and I have nothing but amazing things to say about her. She was friendly, energetic, and did a fantastic job of cleaning our home. I have mopped my floors dozens of times, but they have never looked as good as they did after Karla was done. She got water spots off our glass shower doors that I haven't been able to ever get completely off. Her work on the entire home was incredible, as she took so much care to ensure everything looked amazing. I highly recommend Karla to anyone looking for a fantastic home care contact. I will absolutely be hiring her again in our next home!Jun 3, 2017Verified

Thank you Gary so much for the nice review!
John & Karla were amazing. I hired him to fix a screen door. He did an excellent job and fixed some other things around the house. Karla washed our windows and they looked the best they have looked in 10 years. Great price, friendly, great quality. I am so happy I found them!May 8, 2018VerifiedJohn A.'s reply

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?*EDIT.. There should be a widget here that explains how Thumbtack works **From the Other Side / The Pro's side, just so you can understand more, if you want to. So I would like to give you a view of how things work over on this side, Us the people doing all they can to provide You the excellent service you deserve: 1. Thumbtack is not Free. Your service provider (Like Me) pays an average of 12 to 15 Dollars to communicate with you, the customer. 2. We the service provider pays this fee weather we get hired or not. 3. So these fee's can add up quickly and all though we pro’s may seem expensive at times we are by no means getting rich. 4. Everything is expensive, truth is us Carpenters, Handyman have one of the most expensive businesses there is. **How does the Star Rating system (really) work: 1. You and 20 more customers give Me 20 - 5 Star Reviews. Now that adds up to showing a solid good Pro for You the customer to hire, right (?) of course it does because that's the best a Pro can be here on Thumbtack and that is 20 or more times in a row. 2. It isn't easy to earn 5 Stars and it shouldn't be. 5 Stars should actually be all but impossible to achieve. Being in our line of business and repetitiously earning 5 Star reviews requires a Pro to be very tough, strong, learned, widely skilled, dexterous, physically fast, a fast thinker, excellent memory skills, excellent planning skills, willing to get over feeling unjustified immediately, a person who can make the biggest mess and then clean it up like it never happened, be a skilled mechanical engineer while at the same time a very good artist, at any age be very good at not letting pains and tiredness get in the way of working long and hard hours day after day in any whether, to be a person who can accurately communicate complicated projects to other people having infinitely various levels of understanding and misunderstanding and then Charge them for it, requires a person that can connect with widely differing personalities very quickly, requires great skills in stretching finances on every little thing in a day as far as imaginable even when the money isn't yours, requires the Pro to have a very honest personality to be able to have an honest out come as many times as hopefully Every Time! 3. All of that said, seems that one out of 10 customers are impossible to figure out, I found that they must hate or fear everything or don't have a good enough grasp on how life works or are just plain old thieves at heart. These people will ruin it for Me and You. How ? well so the way I see it is You and I both work together to make a Great Thing and we do this a long with everyone else I do work for.. and so **We Get It Done!** = 5 Stars for everyone, You and Me!, but remember also that the next lady or man I will do work for Also gets 5 Stars. This person naturally deserves 5 Star work just as we all do! Right? 4. So here I am ready to provide complete the circle again and add another 5 Star person to Our Group!, ..but these dishonest people that gave way out of the norm low performance score artificially lower the Top Rated Pro over time and in doing so, fool the Top Pro deserving new customer into going somewhere else. 5. These people are bad for everyone. But that's life and we drive on trying anyway.. Thanks for understanding.. Now, What should the customer know about your pricing: Carpentry and Handyman services, whether it be a bid or hourly, the rate should normally be priced at $60 Per Hour. *Note, so pricing is fair and because we work fast, jobs that take 2 hours or less could be priced at the value of the project instead so be sure to ask. We provide discounts to our clients on materials whenever materials are discounted to us. We pass on savings to you in any way we can with receipts because you deserve them.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?A smart client wants quality first and we are in business for this reason only! Competent, Trustworthy and Knowledge Integrity. Our company is in the Top 3% in all of the services here on Thumbtack because we give every client 5 Star attention.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?We have more than 20 years of wide ranging hands-on experience in general Construction, Finish Carpentry and all Handyman fields. 10 years working as a Field Carpenter and Builder for Construction Companies. Before John began in professional construction he was a professional Machinist working with many types of raw materials, product manufacturing and design. This is a big plus when it comes to truly understanding How and Why things we work with everyday are made the way they are and what they are actually made of.
