- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The 1st steps of a new project starts with a brief phone call to introduce ourselves and listen to the client’s vision while discussing the basic logistical goals such as budgeting and timeline. From there we will provide you with a portfolio showcasing similar projects as well as our general fees schedules and timelines. If we both feel it’s a right fit, we will then schedule an initial design meeting where we can walk the site, discuss potential options as well as evaluate any challenges and or opportunities associated with your project. Once we have gathered all the information on the project and understand the client’s goals for the project we will provide a detailed proposal which will outline our process & terms of working together as well as our fees & schedules to be signed. Each project’s Design process is tailored to suite the needs of the client and the specific project but are generally structured in the following way: 1. Predesign: Provide a site analysis, master planning, site measurements, and initial meeting(s) with the client to set the basis of each design phase 2. Schematic Design: We will start by space planning and sketching out ideas to conceptualizing your project design with the client – Develop initial sketches, diagrams, 3D visualizations and present preliminary layout options for the client to review for feedback. We will allow up to 3 revisions for schematic design. 3. Design Development: We will develop limited constructions drawings (Site Plan, Floor Plans, Elevations & Sections) to be used for preliminary bidding and planning purposes as we prepare to start the construction documentation phase. 4. Construction Documentation: We will prepare all a complete set of construction plans and coordinate an engineering team to be used in submitting to the Bldg. Department 5. Permit Processing & Management: We will coordinate and manage the permit application/ processing phase including all Engineers to address any feedback or comments received until an official permit has been received and delivered to the client & or contractor. 6. Construction Observation: On an as-needed basis to work with the General Contractor and client to observe and verify work and handle any changes or issues that come up during construction
