Introduction: Because every time that I come out to perform, I am not just dancing - I am creating a mood within an atmosphere that is designed to carry you away from the ordinary world and into one which offers seemingly endless possibilities for magic, beauty and escape to exist, or even thrive. Who else do you know gets to put on a glittering costume and assume a new identity like they were a superhero for several hours? Or that knows how to balance a dangerous sword on their head while popping, locking, and vigorously shimmying on their tippy-toes for that matter? Or that gets asked to pose for pictures with families after shows like they're a bigger rock star than Britney Spears? I love making parties happen! I've been in charge of pulling off some amazing parties at some of the top nightclubs and entertainment venues in the Sacramento region, including acting as promoter and hostess to the Black Eyed Peas for a VIP event at The Park Ultra Lounge, and transforming CalExpo into a Mardi Gras paradise for 6,000 people. I also regularly work at major music festivals as a shuttle driver and expedite assistant, including the High Sierra Music FestivaI for the last decade. I can pull inspiration from my vast past experiences attending and helping produce parties of all kinds to make yours unforgettable and one-of-a-kind.

As a professional dancer myself and a promoter and producer of various types of entertainment shows, I have had the pleasure of working with many different types of artists and performers. I like to work with excellent talent, of course, but I also insist upon working with those who conduct themselves professionally. Julia is a dancer who glows in her love for the dance and this flows from her in her performances. I find it a pleasure to work with this dancer and I invite her to dance regularly at my events! She is always very courteous to the guests and audience she performs for, taking the time to speak to them about her deep love for the dance, and edifying the event she is proudly blessing with her skills :) Julia has immense respect for this rich art form of Bellydance. I look forward to working with her in the future!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My basic charges are listed on my website, but I have included the extras here for convenience. Additional charges may apply for extended travel, additional sets/dancers/live music, extended sets, costume changes, pre-event meetings, and holiday bookings (New Year's Eve, Christmas Eve, Christmas, Halloween, Valentine's Day, etc.). Deposits are 50% of the final estimated performance cost, are non-refundable and accepted by cash or PayPal only. Extended travel includes 50 cents per mile outside Yolo/Sacramento/El Dorado/Placer counties, plus any toll/bridge/parking fees. Please add in an extra $100 for holidays (Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year's Eve, Valentine's Day, Halloween). Waiting fee is $100 per hour, $100 per extra set, $50 for each additional 10 minutes added to a set, $40 per costume change.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I believe that we are always students, no matter how long we may have been dancing or even teaching. Even as a teacher, I believe that I must never stop learning and will always be seeking new knowledge to pass along to those that look to me for information or inspiration. Knowledge has no finite end and must always be pursued if excellence is to be realized. In addition to attending regular advanced level group lessons, I also seek out private instruction and specialty workshops taught by the top industry professionals to keep my skills up-to-date and my style constantly evolving. If I believe that I have nothing left to learn then I have already stopped learning.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I got into belly dancing during a time of my life when I had just moved to a new city and needed something to immerse myself in - horseback riding was simply too expensive for me to continue, and my heart wasn't wanting to pursue piano in depth any longer (though I still love to play occasionally when I'm near a set of ivories). I found belly dancing and it changed my life - I no longer felt pressure to be thin and "perfect". I found new confidence in being able to relax and from the compliments I received when I let my figure fill out like nature intended. The movements were so freeing, and the music spoke to my soul. I knew that I was destined to take this path and have never regretted my journey ever since.
