Alex with Atomic Ranch Design, efficiently and affordably built my gorgeous website from scratch. He listened to my design concept and understood the functions I needed. When I had an idea or an explanation of a look or function I desired on the site, Alex seemed to instinctively know what I was talking about. I am not a tech savvy person, so I really needed someone who could decipher my "broken tech language" and create pages that were eye catching and easy to use. Alex was always available to answer my questions, implement changes, but most importantly he gave my ideas direction and clarity. The company I started to work for had no website and one of my first tasks was to create a website and have it go live as soon as possible. I made a Thumbtack inquiry and Alex responded promptly. We met briefly and I could tell immediately that he understood our needs. He delivered a clear and comprehensive proposal. Once we had agreed he was immediately available to start to work. He responded to all my questions in a very timely manner, made excellent recommendations, uploaded content soon after I delivered it to him and we had the website launched in just over a month which included the Christmas holiday.   • How did you get started doing this type of work?

    It all started as a side gig, while in college studying International Business and Finance. )

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

    Clean and minimal design, and references. Make sure to review his/her portfolio and see if their style aligns with yours. As much as designer may claim to be able to adapt, to clients' needs, his/her personal style may still overwhelm the general look and feel you might have in mind.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

    I am a mid-century furniture collector, restorer, and reseller, and love everything "Atomic". I live in a restored "Atomic Ranch" with a wonderful view of the downtown San Diego. Sunsets from here are outstanding! I built metal wall art, and have over 30 clients all over the world. I am a big fan of energy efficiency, environment, and sustainable lifestyle in general. I am also a LEED accredited professional, and have MBA in Energy Management, which allows me to consult in the field quite frequently.
