A chimney cap got blown off our chimney a few weeks ago by Santa Ana winds. Our fireplace inspection was also overdue for a while, so I started shopping for contractor quotes right away. Omar was the most knowledgeable among the contractors I talked to. He was able to figure out and fix a problem with the fireplace gas ignition for free during an initial consultation. So it was a no brainer to go with his services for chimney repairs and sweep, once he provided a written estimate, which wasn’t the cheapest one I got, but was very reasonable. He showed up on time and he and his partner were respectful of the property. Chimney repairs took full day, since we needed a lot of work done: replace a chimney cap, add new chamber coating, seal crown wash, seal the cracks, etc. Omar was proactive in his communication throughout the process. He took his time, so the work was done to the highest quality. We we able to use our fireplace the next evening following the repairs, which was wonderful! I’ll definitely use Omar’s services again!

Great work, nice guy, took care of a VERY old chimney that was a fire hazard and needed to be recapped and cleaned out. Very reasonable pricing as well!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
When it comes to chimneys and fireplaces, there may be various services, repairs, installations, etc., that may be needed. That's why it's best to start with a level 1 inspection. Discounted prices are available for different services in the summer time. Keep in mind during busy/peak fireplace season, which starts after Halloween, prices go up to full price.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The best way is a phone call or text detailing your needs. Sometimes a customer may know what is needed but sometimes a problem must be troubleshooted. Its a good to make a phone call or text to ask questions and/or to schedule an inspection.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been a brick/block/stone mason for over 10 years. I specialized in chimneys and fireplaces starting in 2010 and that has been my expertise ever since, although I still enjoy other masonry projects like hardscapes, retaining walls, pavements, planters, etc.
