Introduction: I love DJing events an providing my customers with a night to remember, whether its a wedding, party, high school reunion or other event, as long as people are having a good time on the dance floor I know I'm doing something right.
I specialize in parties where you want to hear all of the top hits of the 70s, 80s and 90s. Whether its 70s Disco & Funk, 80s New Wave, or 90s Hip Hop & Dance hits, I can do it all, and have been doing it all for over 10 years now.
You can also catch me at various events around the bay area, I promote and DJ San Francisco's biggest 70s.vs.80s party "Funkytown" the 4th Saturdays of every month at the Cat Club in San Francisco (1190 Folsom st), you can also catch me at Club V, Vallejo's new dance club where I host and DJ the "Decades" party every 2nd Friday, bringing you all the top hits of the 70s, 80s, and 90s all night long.
And finally, if you ever make it out to Burning Man, come check out "Planet Earth" Burning Man's only indoor urban style nightclub that I founded in 2009 where we play 70s, 80s and 90s all night long during the entire eight nights of Burning Man.

I had no idea where to look for a DJ when we started planning our wedding and my parents found Porter and sent me his website. We exchanged a few emails and right away I knew he would be perfect for our wedding. Porter is VERY reasonable, personable, professional and just a pleasure to work with.
I probably sent him dozens of emails with questions and song requests and he was more than happy to create "the perfect" playlist for our wedding. He knows his 70's and 80's dance tunes - we wouldn't have changed a thing. He even put together an amazing list of classics at my parents request for the dinner/cocktail hour (Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Dean Martin etc...).... he saved the best hits for the end of the night, we had to drag people off the dance floor.
When things got a little crazy toward the end of the night (lots of off the wall requests I'm sure - and my lovely mom trying to switch the hoppin' dance floor from Michael Jackson to Tony Bennett : / - he just kept the party going and was polite and great to my guests. We even talked him into playing an overtime hour when the shuttle was late.
I highly recommend Porter if you are looking for a fabulous Wedding DJ.

Porter DJ'd and emceed my wedding and it was a huge success, thanks to him!
For months beforehand, Porter was very diligent and asked a lot of questions about my venue and about my musical needs. He even went out of his way to make sure he'd downloaded the correct versions of our entrance & first dance songs, which was a very appreciated touch.
The best thing about Porter is that he's got GREAT musical taste, and a very good ear for what's appropriate in which setting. At my wedding, he played 70s easy listening songs before the ceremony as guests were arriving; he played 50s quiet jazz standards during the dinner; and the very best 70s/80s/90s songs after dinner that got everyone, of every age, on their feet! Everything was perfectly timed and loved by everyone.
He also charges MUCH less than other high-quality DJs in the Bay Area. I highly recommend Porter for DJing any party you are planning!

Porter DJed a holiday party for me in 2018 and my guests absolutely LOVED his vibe & setlists. Porter really knows how to read the crowd and plays music accordingly. People couldnt stop dancing and everyone messaged me after saying how awesome it was. Thanks Porter! You'll always be my first choice! 5 stars!!!!!

DJ Porter was awesome! So many people at the party commented on how he did a great job DJ'ing. I have to say he exceeded my expectations and workin with him was a simple process. I would highly recommend him.
