Introduction: I get completely lost in what I do! I become singularly focused and delve into what I'm working on with a passion. I think it is because I have a passion for writing and this extends to my work in proofreading and editing so effortlessly. I truly look forward to sitting down with your work and combing through it to make it the best that it can be and the cleanest, most polished document that it can be.

Rick Bolner Austin, TX 78749 May 21, 2010 To Whom It May Concern: I have had the pleasure of knowing Dawn Lenz for the past five years. On many occasions she reviewed my fictional work and always offered keen insights and an attention to detail that I seldom received from others, including published novelists. Perhaps most helpful to me was her understanding of my work and what I wanted to achieve. With specific examples and suggestions, she told me how my work would—or wouldn’t—succeed. Dawn never hijacked my work or its intended outcome. In addition to her comprehension of fiction, her application of formatting, grammar, and punctuation was exceptional. I recently read her novel Winged Victory. In it, she demonstrates her understanding of the far-reaching requirements of fiction. The plot had great narrative energy; her plot-point spins were perfectly timed, and she did a superb job of getting her protagonist into tough situations throughout the story. I found the predicaments believable, and the specifics with which she rendered them, convincing. Also, the story is replete with entertaining incidents. Her use of sensual details, which are essential to good fiction writing, added to the dramatic effect. I never gave pause to her dialogue. It was artfully set up through supporting narrative to give its delivery a pop and rhythm. Also, she skillfully used dialogue tags—character’s actions used in lieu of "he said, she said" locutions—which is an earmark of a serious pro. Her setting of ancient Greece was compelling and accessible for me as a reader who knows little of that milieu. The physical descriptions, with other details, ratcheted up her verisimilitude and the overall power of the story. The narrative energy, along with its tightness, and professional presentation made me feel very comfortable and confident that the author would deliver. I wasn’t disappointed. Obviously, if she knows how to achieve this in her own work, certainly it’s fair to expect her to share these insights and talents with you. Whether you’re writing a literary novel, genre fiction, or if you just need a critical review of grammar and construction, I know Dawn will offer very valuable advice to you. Sincerely, Rick Bolner
