- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My rate is $30 per hour, with a 3-hour minimum for all projects. Because every family history question is different, the total cost will vary depending on the amount of research needed. I’m happy to discuss your goals in advance so you have a clear idea of the expected scope and cost. Flat-rate pricing is also available for larger or more complex projects.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For family tree building or general research, you’ll provide any details, documents, or family information you already have, along with the questions you’d like answered. For genetic genealogy projects involving the search for a biological relative, you must have already tested with AncestryDNA before we start. Throughout the process, I’ll keep you updated on my progress and any significant findings. At the end of the project, you’ll receive a final report summarizing the research completed, the conclusions reached, and any recommended next steps.
