FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We strongly believe therapy should be accessible, but typical self-pay rates with top therapists can range from $180-250 per session (50 min). That's why we've worked to negotiate with our therapists to provide their services at a discount. reflect 1:1 sessions are only $145 -- that's up to 50% savings compared to typical therapy self-pay rates. Plus, we auto-bill your credit card after each session, so unlike typical therapy, you don't have to carry cash or pay with checks (who uses those!?). You can use pre-tax HSA/FSA dollars & out-of-network benefits toward reflect session fees. Note, we don't yet take in-network insurance because most of the best therapists in the Bay Area don't accept insurance either.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1. Fill out the matching survey: Answer simple questions to help us understand your unique needs. It takes less than 2 min. 2. Receive your personalized matches via email & talk to each over phone for FREE 3. Pick one for 1:1 sessions. Choose one match with confidence for in-person or teletherapy sessions (50 min).
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
reflect was conceived in 2015 by a busy professional who knows first-hand how stressful life can be and how hard it is to find a therapist. After a decade working in consulting & startups, Jonathan realized he was really stressed -- and had been for a long time. Jonathan found himself always thinking about work, and it was bleeding into his personal life. Later, Jonathan would learn these were signs of anxiety. Thanks to the encouragement of his roommate, Jonathan decided to talk to someone. Unfortunately, the six months it took for him to look for a therapist actually added more stress to Jonathan's life -- he didn't know what to look for or what all the clinical jargon meant. Struggles in his search led Jonathan to want to create something better to help others like him frustrated with finding a therapist. With the small but mighty team and a growing group of the Bay Area's top therapists, reflect hopes to improve how people think about their mental health. Everyone can benefit from talking to someone, and our goal is to make it easier than ever.
