FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was a triathlete and runner and was always getting injured. Yoga helped me to stay more connected and listen to my body and kept my mind in balance and calmer when I got stressed or anxious about a race. Massage helped to heal my body when I was injured, over-trained or had just done too many hard workouts! ChiRunning helped rid me of knee pain when running and I've never been injured since I learned ChiRunning in 2005. I was so inspired by all this wonderful healing that was given to me that I wanted to share this with others going through similar experiences to what I went through. So I trained as a yoga teacher, massage therapist, ChiRunning instructor and triathlon coach, gave up my corporate job and I'm thrilled to be passing on this amazing gift of teaching and healing to others!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Massage - healing sports injuries, chronic and acute pains, digestive issues, insomnia, anxiety, depression, headaches, migraines, and generally making people feel lighter within their body and mind. Yoga - I teach vinyasa flow yoga and iron yoga and help people to feel the natural flow of energy and rhythm through the body with this movement, strength, stretching, breathing and dynamic flow. Running - I teach private and group workshops to teach people how to run more efficiently and injury-free by ChiRunning. Walking - I teach people to walk more easily and reduce the impact when they walk and run.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Massage is as much of an art as it is a science. Tapping into our intuition when working on someone and feeling what is going on with them energetically, instead of just thinking in terms of physical anatomy, is so important and will provide more profound healing and transformations. I have a 16 year background working in technology in the corporate world and studied Math at Oxford so I also bring an intelligence and a logical mind to all my teaching and healing.
