Introduction: Hi there! I am a photographer specializing in proposals, engagement shoots, and small to medium sized weddings. I always ensure that our time working together does not just feel like a posed photoshoot but a natural and organic experience. During my shoots, I will provide direction for poses or activities to facilitate emotion and create real and candid moments. Story is the most important aspect about any art form. I love to work with people to capture their lives as authentically as possible. - I always have a meeting or phone call with all of my clients to ensure that we are a good fit and answer any questions or concerns about the process. - For proposals, I will provide direction and tips during our meeting/call on your positioning to ensure the best composition for the surprise moment. I will also provide some pointers on taking your time and keeping calm. - For engagements, I will provide direction on posing when appropriate but most of the time, I will provide various activities to create natural and candid moments. Ken is the man and his work is awesome. He worked with me on a surprise proposal on the beach, and helped make the process so simple and figuratively held my hands through each step. He was so patient waiting almost an hour for me to work up the nerves for the big moment, and perfectly capture the shots. OH and unlike most photographers, Ken allows you to download as many high-res proofs as you'd like which is great. I will definitely look to Ken again in the future! I am so lucky to have found Ken to help capture photos of my proposal. I have known Ken for many years, dating back to our college days. I reached out to Ken back in April of 2021 regarding a surprise proposal I was planning. I notified Ken and his assistant, Chrysanthe, that the surprise proposal would be taking place on a Yacht out on the open sea in Santa Barbara, CA. Ken and Chrysanthe were up to the task without hesitation and did an incredible job capturing our happiest moments, even as we were all shifting and sliding on the rocking Yacht. We were thrilled with the photos and got numerous compliments on them from friends and family. Without hesitation we booked an engagement session with Ken and Chrysanthe in Santa Barbara, CA. Even though Ken and Chrysanthe were not very familiar with the area, they researched prior to the trip and came prepared with multiple amazing location recommendations. Ken and Chrysanthe did a great job making us feel comfortable in front of the camera. They played music to make our poses feel more natural and assisted us and our dog with posing. Ken was very professional, captured above and beyond what we had envisioned, and included both of our personalities together as a couple so well in the photos. We are in love with our photos and could not have asked for a better experience for the proposal and our engagement photos!

Ken was amazing to work with! He took photos for our parish’s 50th anniversary. It was a large event with a lot of moving parts. He was easy to work with and captured so many wonderful moments for our parish. He took a large variety of photos for the event, pleasing us all!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I always like to have two meetings. The first one is to get to know you and see what your expectations are and make sure that we will be a good fit. Remember, working with your photographer should be natural and fun! I typically also run through pricing and quotes. The second meeting is to run through the details of the day. For example, shot lists, schedules, locations, delivery timeline, any special requests, etc. This will also be the time that contracts will be signed and a deposit is placed.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Always be sure to have a meeting with your photographer to make sure that they will be a good fit for your personality, style, and expectations.
