My daughter and I wanted to learn to knith and not wanting to waste any time we started with socks. Dawna was our instructor and we each made a sock which meant we had a pair. Dawna was so supportive on our adventure guiding us each step of the way. I have gone on to knit more socks and added sweaters and shawls. My daughter works more in hats and scarves. Dawna is now teaching me lace work and I am loving it.

Donna is a good teacher because is is able to let the student grow at whatever pace they choose. I went from never knitting to knitting socks without any trouble. I didn't even have a doubt about being able to get the details and finish the socks. I made 5 pairs of socks.
Then Donna was forming a group to knit lace shawls and I am knitting my third shawl now. She is willing to show you how to do anything with knitting that you want. If you learn fast so go for it but if you need extra encouragment about you technique or project she is there to be your cheering support and technical advisor.

I have been working in a small group with Dawna the past few months, learning about lace knitting. She is always prepared, anticipating any questions or potential problems as well as patient and encouraging. Challenging as some of the patterns have been, I know I can be successful, thanks to Dawna's guidance.

Dawna possesses many special talents; she is an intrepid knitter and a fabulous knitting instructor. For the last two years, I have had the pleasure of take a number of Dawna's knitting classes (Sock club and Shawl Knitting Group). She is a professional yet her approach is very caring. Dawna's knitting knowledge is vast and her own desire to learn new techniques is obvious. She is able to inspire confidence to her students and she is always well prepared for her classes. I feel grateful to have an instructor like Dawna inspire my knitting.
