Johnathan is an absolute gem. He is so down to earth, smart, kind, and you can tell he cares about what he is doing and about the customers. He has over 19 years of experience, started from one of the first companies to do this well out in the bay and then branched out to his own company, where it’s clear he wants to commit to doing a good job for the customers versus just making a large profit.
We got a quote from another company who was running crazy ads and it was very clear after meeting and talking to Jonathan that the other company was in it for the money and the biggest job possible.
Jonathan came in, sat down, explained ALL the issues. Drew pictures for us to understand better since it was clear that we were over our heads(esp since we spoke with the other company that made it seem like our house was a danger to be living in) then he continued to explain all of the structural components of our house and how it helps with the safety/etc(NONE of this was done by the other well known/IG ad pushing company). He took his time, went over different options, gave us rough estimates for both. Suggested and gave a list of people he suggested for soil reports(Within less than an hour of meeting us). Broke down costs and said YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE YO PAY MORE THAN THIS and laughed as I added extra for what if’s. He was such a lovely person and his quote was WAY less than the other company who only gave us one very expensive option and then didn’t even bother to send a full estimate.
I immediately wanted to work with him right after and plan to. Highly suggest him for any of your foundation needs. Save yourself time, no need to get other quotes from other companies and just go with him:)

We had some of the same issues I think most people have around our neighborhood, some cracks on the walls in the hallway and doorways. Our floors always felt bouncy and made noise sometimes but seemed to get worse over the years. Our neighbor had some of the same issues and we decided to find a contractor together. We had a couple of companies out to inspect our foundations but we both agreed Jonathan from Golden Gate was the most qualified. Definitely made us more comfortable than the other guys. To be fair the other companies only sent out salesman and they didn’t seem that knowledgeable. Both companies tried to make me sign a contract on the spot…after an hour after meeting? We both went with golden gate. I’m glad we did. We had Kevin’s team do the work, he’s the team leader and did a great job. Our kitchen feels solid now, and much more level than ever. It’s nice. Kevin also got most of our cracks closed. He left the measurements with us before leaving and I appreciate the afternoon updates. We are very happy with the results. We had 28 jacks, and wooden support bracing installed in our crawlspace. I wish we had it fixed years ago.

Our home has been sinking and cracking for a few years before we were finally able to address it. We had two other contractors give us a bid for the work before Jonathon at Golden Gate Foundation Repair came out. He was much more knowledgeable and detailed than the other two and quickly made us feel less anxious about the process. He obtained several measurements from around the house and did a great job explaining everything to us, it was a huge relief. He brought things up that the others companies did not and put us at ease after detailing the fix. I wanted to know all the costs and possible costs up front and he gave them to us.
His team were very respectful to our home and yard, they worked so hard, and kept our yard as clean as it could be for a construction site. Jonathon checked in daily with updates and timelines. Everything was very clear and transparent. The only unexpected thing that happened was when one of the guys hit an old water line while breaking our concrete walkway. To be fare, that line should not have been there and it was just an old condensation line we don’t use anyway.
The price was also similar to the other two companies, except Jonathon gave us the price from the start, without a salesman back and forth. Both of the other companies gave us one price at first and then offered a large discount if we signed a contract that same day. One of them offered an even larger discount a month later, but it ended up being the same as Jonathons. He gave us the accurate price up front instead of starting higher than necessary so it looks like we’re getting a discount. This made us trust Jonathon even more.
They started our project faster than I anticipated, and seemed to give it extra care. I have already recommended GGFR to my neighbor. This type of service can be very specialized and we wanted a serious expert. I will recommend GGFR any day. Thank you,
